Thank you My sister is needing a few things from there and I was hoping it might be on again

great i need to buy some paint & wallpaper this week, thank you very much.

thanks for the head up

b&q must be doing badly then if they are doing 20% off for 2 weeks on the trot. either that or they are overpriced in the first place lol.
good deal if you need anything, will add heat

Was packed last weekend - must be working though a lot of their stuff is overpriced.

Case in point, bought a B&D workmate for £45 a few weeks ago from Tesco - B&Q are selling same model for nearly £80! - with 20% this gives a price of £64

EXCELLENT!!!! Thanks! x

Hot, although always try out toolstation or screwfix before you go B&Q

Screwfix is B&Q but the advice about Toolstation is good they are almost always cheaper than Screwfix.

Absolutely no comms to store yet. About this weekend stunt. This should be moved to misc until proof

Can I just say that this is an excellent deal. I went in on Saturday and i got internal doors. The doors were on offer i.e. buy 5 or more and save 25%. I bought six doors at £30 each = £180. I then saved 25% so got them for £135. I also bought internal door handles for £90. I saved a further 15% as there is an offer on saving you 15% off all door handles when you buy any amount of internal doors. I got the handles for £76.50. Total price came to £211.50. I then got the 20% discount off total price bringing my sale to total price of £169.20

Total amount saved = £100.80

Can i just remind everyone that Homebase match the 20% off also. I wanted to buy tiles for my floor and i liked the ones they had in Homebase better than B&Q. After phoning the Manager of Homebase i was advised that they would match this as long as i brought proof of the discount i.e a newspaper ad or a print out from the website that says 20% off. Same rules apply, you must spend £50 minimum to get the discount. I got it no problem as it was advertised in the Daily Record.

it states that you get 20% of sale items but i brought some laminate on saturday that was in the sale and other bits that come to 70 plus quid and i didnt get the discount as apparently you carnt get it on sale items.so i was told.

Good, If B&Q are doing badly it is because they are a bunch of lying incompetant idiots. :x

And before anyone has a go at me for posting such a strong comment, check last weeks 20% thread.

don't forget quidco for the reserve & pick up

ended up getting things for 23% off last weekend, which wasn't too bad on £2500 pre-discount prices

Is there a code, or does the 20% come off automatically on checkout?

Screwfix and B&Q are different companies but owned by the same people (kingfisher). Your as likely to find a cheaper price at Screwfix than toolstation

does this apply to online purchases?

when at checkout the cashier will hopefully notice the transaction is over £50 and then will put in a transaction discount on the transaction, so if your on the self service checkouts, make sure that the operator notices and puts the discount through otherwise you will end up without 20% off, it does happen.

You the chap that managed to stand in a pot of paint? If so, you sir, are a legend.

anyone know if there would be a problem doing this?

buy a shed for £109 find something else for £292 bring price to £401 thus allowing for free home delivery, then when delivered return the £292 item?

i refuse to pay £20 for delivery of a shed.

Every time i go to my local screwfix (norwich) i come out wanting to punch a member of staff in the face .
I've had the same bloke the last two times I've been in there and he's a complete tit.
Now toolstation on the other hand are much better and cheaper for most things and the staff are better.

Yes I did slip in the tin of paint that was lying on the floor at the checkout, surrounded by a bunch of people queing to pay for their items.
What kind of idiot staff let someone drop a tin of paint at the tills, and instead of clearing the customers to another checkout line, and closing the till, continue to serve people while they all stand around the spilt tin of said paint.
As my wife and I had not purchased anything we were just trying to walk our way past the untidy group of customers who were waiting to pay for their goods.Fine for them, they knew the paint was on the floor between them, I obviously couldn't see it among the group of people.
Anyway, like i said the fact that they couldn't correctly deal with a spill wasn't the issue, or the fact that no member of staff offered any help to clean the paint off me, it was the lies from the manager on the phone latter that day, that there HAD been a barrier up,and his staff HAD assisted me that sent me over the edge.
Actually, as a follow up to what happened on Saturday, I was phoned this morning by complaints dept of B&Q the gentleman seemed genuinely shocked by the stores handling of the situation. When I said I would be sending out letters to as many parties as I believed needed one, he said there was no need for that, as he would have it all sorted out today,no problem,
and he would ring me back in the afternoon, and the incident would be sorted.
Yes........you guessed it..........No call back today........Don't you just love em !!

intereted in reserve and collect greenhouse - can you still get 20% off

reserve and collect you pay in store so you pay in store price, be it with or without 20% discount.

in other words yes you get the discount in my exprience

All stores can make mistakes and that doesn't bother me too much but it's when the customer services muppets think they can treat you like an idiot that I get really annoyed. I hope you end up getting something worthwhile out of this!

Might give this a go as the local homebase is 5 minutes from the house, instead of 20min drive to b&q!

does this apply online and to their nextdaydiy website

[QUOTE=Schwaa;8113474]I work there and it is happening

Well I wish u would tell us where you got that info as still no communications from HQ or messages on the intranet, checked 1/2 hour ago before finishing work. Also no mention of this on Regional conference call (you would have thought the Regional Managers would be aware of this promotion) Also for last weekend stores were given 100 hours to deploy extra staff (told on Monday) & no staff costs have been given extra for this weekend as of 7.30pm tonight.

I do hope its on this weekend as extra overtime but none of the usual signs are showing for this yet.

hmm, I was told by one of my managers when i was putting up the POS thats its only temporary for the 2 days, and then he said we gotta do this again the next week anyway. So to hear someone else say a similar thing kinda reinforced what should be true.

Someone on MSE has seen an advert for this on TV so it does look like it's on.

A bit more serious than this was my friend's mum who was knocked into at Tesco by one of those boys moving the trolleys (i.e. a trolley went into her). She is very elderly and was in quite a bit of discomfort. She reported the incident in case there were any issues later. My friend went in to the store to make sure the incident had been properly recorded - and guess what? It was nowhere to be seen.

Anyway - the matter is now on it's way to court. Tesco have offered £2000 to stop proceedings now but my friend's solicitor has recommended to go to court.

My friend's mum is a lovely, kind old lady who will help anyone and it surprised me she is prepared to go to court - I think the way Tesco tried to cover it up made her take this action.

I hope she gets every penny she deserves.I assume like yourself.it's not any monatary gain that's the point, It's the principle of the matter, and expecting these big companies to hold their hands up and admit when they have messed up.We all make mistakes in life, it's how we deal with those mistakes what counts.Once they do not correct their mistake, and lie, cover it up or just plain ignore the incident, you start to question the morals of modern society.
Oh by the way, I received a phone call from B&Q and they said they are taking their managers report, that the checkout was cleared, and there was a barrier in place, as what REALLY happened, and as far as they are concerned that's the end of the matter.I have already taken some advice ( not proffesional ) and they seem to think B&Q will never allow me to use THEIR cctv footage to show that the managers account of events are untrue. As it's their property, and they only need to hand it over if theft was involved. Can anyone confirm if this is the case or not,as it's only the cctv footage that will show the store as liars.Without it it's mine and my wifes word against B&Q's.

Attention:

Be aware its Fri/Sat/Sun NOT Monday, Advert just on TV there.

So if anyone was holding off till Monday after reading the first post, then you'll have to go at least one day earlier.
