A use for my student card - yeah

In Scotland my daughter has been getting 20% off with her "Young Scot Card" for some time in New Look, also at Top Shop/Dororthy Perkins

so any student card does? I don't have NUS.

thanks for the heads up anyway.

i dont have an NUS card. But New Look accept my university student id for the discount, so you should be fine!

Dirty unwashed spongers, get a job and stop listenening to the Levellers

thanks for the heads up, just reminded my of something. Have just posted it at: hotukdeals.com/ite…sio

Even if you are not part of a university or students union you may still be able to pick one up.

my GF uses her normal uni card, NUS was a total rip of £10 and you dont get anything from it as all of the places we have tried (cinema etc) let you use normal student ID

Most places take your student card fine, never had any problems. Fab for me I work full time, go to uni part time, still gets the discounts!

My sister just uses her college ID card for discounts in cinema/newlook/peacocks etc

On the odd occasion I've been told I need the NUS card as it has a expiry date, all I say is I've always used this one or its on the way to me now, and that always works! I don't see the point in spending the £10 until mine wont work any more

H&R added!

Thanks. I had an NUS last year but didn't bother this year.
I think a few places are cracking down on non-NUS student cards though, as I had mine refused at Ethel Austin the other day

we have had a few places reject normal student cards but when taken up with the manager they let it through

NUS seem to think its ok to tell the shops that students require a NUS card when its the shop who have arranged their own discount i could understand is NUS went around setting up discounts in the shops but they dont (or at least not in any of the ones i asked)
