Office workers will spend a third of their day in such a chair and so it is easy to justify spending more on one that offers full adjustments in all of the key areas. Same scenario as for a mattress.
Eye-wateringly expensive yes, waste of money no. For anybody who thinks it is a waste of. Mooney, ask yourself how much the phone in your pocket cost!
I wish I had the disposable income to buy one of these.

Spending lots of hours at a desk it's definitely worth the investment in a good chair.

A £40 chair has tests done to ensure comfort, more or less. It's just an exaggerated price by a mile. £200/300 you can have a leather chair with massage function speakers... what are you talking about? £800 for a comprehensively tested chair priced for snobs if you ask me. £800 for a massive executive chair with mahogany and leather yes... but not this metal skeleton thanks. Voted cold for winding me up

Epic trolling or angry old man, can't decide. Either way you don't have a clue about manufacturing costs.

Is it an electric one?
Sitting on one of these now, courtesy of the office mind you.

Ok I agree, but £100, £200 should suffice, £800 is just mind blowing no gold in it no leather no diamonds... where is that £800 worth of stuff? In the title? ... ridiculous.

Has the website crashed? Not coming up properly on my screen.
I always akin a good chair to a good mattress by the amount of time you spend in them.. I always recommend looking for Aerons refurbished - as the price is alot more palatable!

£329 after that recent O2 iPhone XR deal I do agree with you though, like you can even pick these chairs up in decent condition on eBay for around ~£275.

My thoughts exactly. With high quality refurbs from sites like 2ndhnd it baffles me why people go for the monstrous gaming things.
I have the original Aaron under me. £350 I paid for it as its a refurb. It didn't have a mark on it.
These chairs are so well made. I think £800 is too much for a chair, but it's one of those items where you really can tell by touching it that it's expensive/premium well made.

Is in the technology and the countless tests they did to make it comfortable for people! Gold , diamond leather ???? What are you talking about.....

For the classic version you can. But not for the Remastered with 12 year warranty.

Either way pointless being rude but thanks
We have these at work, and I just don't find them comfortable. I feel the back is never straight and makes me slouch, maybe it's just me.

Having used an Aeron at work I knew the benefits of a properly designed seat and picked one up for under £200 (in excellent condition). Daughter has since adopted it though she lets me use it occasionally, if I don't adjust it.

Lucky you. I recently picked one up (had choice of two) from eBay for £285 bidding before 10% off. He was clearly very wealthy judging by the location and recent house build (easy million plus) He was keeping one for his home office having bought them both 18 years ago !

It's all about quality and providing your body with good options to do as much as possible to help it during the unnatural position of sitting all day.

I would love to buy a new one in the future.... polished chrome though

Seems these are more common around london. Most sellers charging 50 quid for delivery otherwise on ebay. Id love one too but would need to sit in it to see if its actually worth it.

I ordered the polished chrome graphite Aeron remastered and it'll be delivered on Wednesday
Looks like their website is crashing
These are excellent chairs and worth every penny, especially with 20% off, which is a real discount and not off a specially inflated price as is the case with some retailers/products when it comes to sales.

I previously had a reasonably expensive Staples '8-hour-rated' chair at work, which frankly was the most uncomfortable chair ever, as well as build quality being shockingly poor. Inherited a 2016-model Aeron from my boss when she left and it has transformed my working day. I'm seriously tempted to buy one to replace the 28-year-old Herman Miller I have at home, which is still going strong with only minimal signs of wear. They are definitely built to last.

Also consider that this has a 12 year warranty - you can spend £200 on a new piece of tat every year or so and will likely have spent double the cost of the Aeron over 12 years, and probably developed back problems to boot, or you could spend £800 and be quids in, comfortable, and pain free for at least the next 12 years.

Voted hot.

I always go for quality when possible !
If you're thinking of buying one. Make sure to try them first. They have different sizes.
Been using Herman Miller Aeron and Embody for years, worth every penny. I figure I must be spending 10+ hours on them every day though, YMMV.

100% agreed. At least for me and with the Aeron, it is much less comfortable even if I go up by one size.
Where can you try these? JL in store?

I agree, there is a point of diminishing return a £200 chair is more than enough. We have these chairs at work (£800 ones) that they supply to the fussy people and they arent that spectacular that id dump that amount of cash on one.
