Its my first deal post and I am working from memory here so please be gentle (the ad is in todays papers).

I think the offer runs from today to the 29th Oct.

Samsung D900i - £79.99 from £99.99
Sony Ericsson W810i - £59.99 from £79.99
Nokia 7373 - £59.99 from £79.99
Nokia 5300 - £49.99 from £69.99

The W810i is a fantastic price.

These prices also seem to be available on the O2 website as well as high street stores although the ad in the paper didn't point this out.

only o2 CONTRACT phones are, and most of the PAYG ones you get from CPW. People also prefer o2 phones due to the minimal software branding.

O2 PAYG phones from o2 direct are 99% locked to the network.

The space is the # key instead of the "0" key.

Also with the words you create, you can delete them from the memory. Unlike nokia's.

Once you get used to it, they're as easy to text with as what nokia is.

tried to order the w810i, website failed and said to ring to order. Rung them and they 'declined' my order. Rung my cc co. and they said they approved the transaction, so rung o2 back and they said it was because I had ordered more than 2x handsets to my home address in my LIFETIME, I said to them that's just insanity, she agreed and suggested trying to get around it by getting it sent to another address / different card.

I've now tried with 3x different cards to two different addresses (removing the cookies each time) and they all decline....starting to feel paranoid now lol after I left my o2 contract early after the 0870 terms changes.

I purchased an 810i PAYG last week and it was definitely locked to O2. The only way to unlock is to either take it to someone with the equipment, or purchase a cable off Ebay (or somewhere else on the web where they are cheap). You can unlock your phone via a computer with the appropriate software (also available on the net).
You definately cannot unlock via a code (which is possible with most Nokias)

This was too much hassle, so I just sold the phone on Ebay (at a small profit:giggle:) and purchased another on T-mobile, so I could use it with my Virgin SIM.

The 810i is a very good phone for the money, they come with a 512 mb memory stick as standard for use with the camera or walkman facilities.

do they come with headphones?

yes, but they are a bit chunky for me - £1.99 0f ebay for a little adapter so you can plug your comfy pair in

SE are brilliant, I love em...

e2save seem to be cheaper...am I missing something here?

i get the same problem, usually when o2 have good deals i just give up trying to order. this time i want the 810i so i rang up. 3 credit cards rejected, from 2 diff banks  the operator said it was a fault at their end, took payment details again, so they can try over the next 24 hours. they'll contact me if succesful or not.

I just spoke to 02 AGAIN and they said the PAYG handset is actually locked

Thanks for that staffiebull - I thought it was just me - it's a crazy policy.

To top it off I just got an automated fraud prevention call (2 hours after the transaction) asking me if I've tried to purchase something from o2 for £59.99 lmao

Ah! thanks tef89 for the clarification. Missed the recon bit completely

Np's - I'd just ordered one that's how I spotted it

do any of these phones come with Bluetooth? I can't find any cheap O2 phones that do, and that is all my son wants from a phone.

Original Poster

I know the Sony and Samsung both have bluetooth.

I have bought a few phones from o2 over the years and the 810i is a really good phone does everything even run bluetooth stereo headphones! If you have been a customer for a while with o2 pay and go and you register with them they will give a discount ! They changed it from money off a few months ago to credit. I managed to get £50 off as I have been with them for several years. Your discount will depend on how long you have been with them and how much you spend. You have to ask they won't offer this!

Thanks, just ordered a W810.

Thanks for the help, am ordering the SE W810i for Xmas pressie. ;-)

Completely different phone you've linked to there

If you meant the w810 clearance one they have listed - as I mentioned earlier that's a reconditioned / returns unit.

I have rang them 3times today to double check and they have told me they are UNLOCKED!! sounds like their staff are not very well trained!! you get 14days to return no penalty so if locked it's going back!! :x

Got a Sony Ericsson w810i today nice little phone for £59.99
but there is a minimum £10 top up if buying in-store which makes the phone £69.99
also tried several different sim cards in the phone and they dont work, only o2 seems to work in the phone so can't be unlocked.

nice find mate
