Does the 100 night trial still apply if purchased through JL?

Yes. It mentions it in the 'Product description' on the John Lewis web site.
I've just purchased the Casper mattress. Considered the Simba and Eve but Casper came out best in the reviews. Amazing mattress
So, here's a conundrum. Who know's where to get a divan bed, that's built to a high specification, is supremely comfortable, but is aggressively priced? Are there "hidden" brands which are every bit as good as the famous expensive brands, such as Hypnos, but cost a fraction of the price?
At these prices I can finally Lie on King...
I'd rather look at these things a different way.

Assuming the bed (mattress and base) costs £1,000 and lasts out its warranty period of 10 years. If it doesn't, then I claim a new one under the warranty.

10 years is 3,652 nights and so the bed has cost the paltry sum of 27 pence per night.

Don't know about you but, personally, a good night's sleep is worth that to me.
Taken from JL - Until 16 April, we’re offering Interest Free Credit when you spend just £500* or more on furniture, carpets, curtains or blinds. *0% APR representative. Subject to status. Terms and conditions apply. Minimum spend reverts to £1000 from 17 April.
What's so good about these mattresses?
Same prices at Argos too, mattress due to be delivered tomorrow
I have Simba mattress and Tempur mattress and I like my Tempur mattress. Better sleep mean better health to me.
Fabulous mattress- worth every penny
cheaper here, they are returns from the 100 night trials + EXTRA 15% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 2 OR MORE

This is an opportunity to own one of the best-selling mattresses you can buy for a bargain price. The mattress is sold completely 'as new' and has been slept on for less than the 100 days. The cover has been replaced by a brand new one - so it is absolutely spotless.

The Simba mattress will arrive fully expanded and not vacuum sealed and/or boxed. It will be delivered in perfect condition inside double plastic bags.

Please note the 100-day trial and 10-year guarantee do not apply. All Sales Final.

Would anyone really want a used mattress though
I bought one two months back. No issues. If I had more to spend on a tempur I would but this is doing the job fine

Are these matterest any good though compared to silent night for example and the sizes are they uk standard
Good deal and something you can Re-Lie on
Casper is currently 15% off (£510 for King size) and it seems to have much better reviews.
What the difference between this and ergoflex?
So far so good on ergoflex

Pretty sure Simba would put any claim down to ‘wear and tear’. What else could go wrong with a mattress?
Edited by: "robocop999" 8th Apr
Bought a Leesa mattress last year fantastic. Such an upgrade on our old traditionally made one. I used to wake up feeling like I'd played rugby in my sleep but no more. I think the Simba is similar but was reviewing not quite as positively as the Leesa at the time of purchase.

Any way, I doubt if you'll go wrong with one of these at any price.....

Something to do with the mattress retaking it's shape after you get off.
I have an Eve and the small print says something about dents in the foam from a body being permanent. A certain tolerance is a allowed. Say for instance they allow a 1cm permanent depression in the foam after a few years. If it goes beyond that it would fail. Can't remember the exact figure.
Do JL, or Argos take away your old mattress ? Is there a charge for that ?
Sorry just seen £25 to recycle old mattress at JL

Note lots of the reviews for Casper are for the American version which has a different top layer. Ive had my Simba for about 9months now and it's brilliant!!! Best bed I've ever bought and that's considering the £1000+ sealy beds I've had in the past!

johnryanbydesign.co.uk a site with good advice.
Good price, gutted i paid full price only a fortnight ago!!! Just contacted simba to try get a 20% refund or return it (to buy it again from JL, it's such a good mattress!).
It says on their website that delivery will take within 7 weeks. Has anyone actually bought and received it within days recently?

Return it under the 100 night policy, then rebuy through JL
I have a dunlopillo slatted base & dunlopillo mattress never need turning best investment ever as with their pillows too

I have had Dunlopillo pillows for decades.(only negative is, they go a bit grotty after a while) but sleeping on a relative's Dunlopillo mattress put me right off. I don't seem to get on with foam ones either, (even apart for the heat!) and stick to a decent quality Pocket spring type instead - my pain and disabilities make turning in bed difficult at best, and both other types are a bit like quicksand to me, they are too quick and too effective at moulding into body shape!
I've just had mine delivered from JL last week. Not impressed. My OH says she is comfortable but she only weighs 8 stone. I'm 14 stone and I just sink into it like a prevoius Memory foam mattress we had several years ago. The spring section that's built into this Simba mattress is only about 40mm of interlocking mesh not enough to stop the whole thing compressing. My thoughts are if you're considering this, if you're below 10 stone fine above you'll find it annoying. Worth having the 100 day trial, ours is going back soon.

Ordered ours under this offer two weeks ago and it came within a week on day we chose. May be delays now.

it depends on where its from and its age. at least is from the manufacturer and not a private ebay seller and you get a £600 matress for £320 or less if you need more than 1

A lot can go wrong with a standard "spring" mattress. My slightly built daughter's JL mattress had spring problems...when turned had an obvious fault in that the internal springs "cascaded" to the base of the mattress...weird. It was the John Lewis 325 open sprung....7 year guarantee....BUT be aware that if you buy it as a matching "set" (i.e. with base / divan) then the standard 2 year guarantee kicks in (the 7 year mattress guarantee becomes 2 years). Sadly, 3 year old mattress without it's single 7 year g'tee is useless now
Not sure if this is the case with all sets....maybe best to only buy the mattress unless the higher g'tee is shown

Thanks for info! its true, most people even doing the trial wont leave it until the 99th night to refund. Probably only used for two weeks.

I saw someone ask the same question to Simba on a Facebook post. Their response was to return the higher prices mattress, using the 100 day return, then purchase the cheaper one - everyone loves a company that saves the environment

I can't return during the first 30 days... according to the 100 day trial agreement. Gonna have to wait and decide what to do.
I've recently returned a LEESA mattress as I found it too hot (even in February / March), although it otherwise proved very comfortable, once you adjust to the memory foam.

Does anyone know how this compares (in terms of heat)?

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard! So they send customers brand new ones, what a stupid policy
