To the best of my knowledge there is no specific religious reasons as such - Monday and more so Tuesday are generally considered the quieter days of the week for the food industry - so they close on Tuesday to take a bit of a breather and spend sometime with their family.
What a total joke! None of the places near me are doing anything off, let alone 20% off?! This deal is a scam just getting them free publicity and traffic. Once again, we need to be able to change hot votes to cold on this site!! People voted this hot expecting to get 20% off everything.

thats all i need when im trying to slim down
That's amazing. I don't really like just eat due to the prices. (Most restaurants use foodhub with a constant 10% off without service fee) BUT. this deal is amazing. For once just eat has done something right. Well done.

This made me laugh.

Fri-Sun are the busiest days so they do not take weekends off, they take a day off on Mon-Thurs where is quieter. Usually Mon/Tue's since its after the busy period, Tue's tends to be a little quieter than Mon's. You'll find most of your local takeaways will close on the same day so they can spend time together on their day off.
Not bad although 15 quid is much more than I usually spend. Plus I tend to only buy takeaways for wrestling ppvs so could have done with it being this weekend but not bad

Just remember when they knock don't ignore them. Or they will say "let me in".
Thing that annoys me about just eat is a takeaway will charge me anywhere from £1-3.50 to deliver and they refuse to enter my building.
If I’d ordered from the take away I wouldn’t normally pay delivery.
This really grinds my gears.
Great! The only Indian takeaway locally which is open on a Tuesday has a one star hygiene rating, I guess Tuesday may have to be the new pizza night then :/
i think the chinese i go to is open on a tuesday so thats cool

i stopped using just eat and went direct after i found out they take between 12-20% of the cost of order from the takeaway depending on how much revenue the takeaway gets a month through just eat

Really? Every takeaway I know charges delivery I mean they really need to.

Yes but most people only order with discounts. The takeaways don't do that so much. Plus I've called up takeaways before and trying to get an order correct isn't always the case.

I'm sure the takeaway would still rather get 80% of something than 100% of nothing.

How do they stay open with 1 star? I don't even use 3 star places.

True also never ordered Indian food on a Monday or Tues, leftovers from the weekend
What on earth, just checked my local Chinese. They're shut on Tuesdays too thought it was just a Midlands thing.

Just Eat get 20% + £0.50 service charge from every order. Only few will join 20%OFF normal price and pay 20% commission on top.

Do you think that takeaways get 100% profit? NOT. Try to cook same food at home, +wages, energy, rent.. Profit maybe 30% but 20% go to Just Eat.

But Just Eat are giving us 20% off here...thus their commission is zero right? And yes it would cost a decent amount of I made it but then I pay supermarket prices not wholesale.

Likely people are ignorant and unaware, I only recently discovered the hygiene rating is displayed on just eat on the "info" tab
