It's a tough call but most of the items can be found at close to the discounted price (Single pet PIR is £20.83 at that jungle place) but without being forced to buy 3 more items.
Original Poster
3 PIR'S (non Animal) for £52
Panic alarm £12
Key fob £14.40

These are good prices if need a few things

If you have the cables in place already then its a no brainer really, any grade 2 alarm will be miles better than this Yale system.

Don't forget the on-going cost to replace wireless batteries as much as every 12 month depending on usage, you may also need on-going access to ladders to change the battery in the siren as well.

Thank you.
Is there a DIY kit you could recommend?

Local engineer wants £450 for a basic (No dialler). He said it would be more if he had to d the wiring do the wiring.
Seems excessive to me

I've had a Yale wireless system for 6-7 years now and has performed superbly. The batteries last at least 2 years, even the 4 D cells in the siren unit which is exposed to all the temperature changes.

Texecom Prem Elite or Honeywell Galaxy are both good systems, there are others as well. Depends on budget, spec, number of devices required and you're ability as a DIY'er.

A 3rd party dialler can easily be added to any wired system.

have a look at D I Y N O T forums in the alarm section for advise, lots of knowledgeable people there.
