Because Additions, Little Woods, Very etc, are known for a month of two down the line taking the full payment...

Got a £50 one from Very the other day for £20 with a £30 off code they sent me

Not bad, but I'm concerned about the unspent credit I'll have leftover.

Say I buy a £16 game on PSN, I'll have £4 left on my PSN account. Then I wanted to buy a £5 game from PSN, would PSN get the remainder of the money required from my bank account if I put in the details or would I have to top up another £20?

You would have to put another fiver in from your visa, £5 being the minimum that can be put in

Shopto is £17.85 + 4% quidco (71p) for an instant - less than 20 seconds - for £20 PSN credit.

Why wait? (unless it's a gift)

Hot. Just wish we had a decent Asda around here.

Cos I'm in no hurry whatsoever and quidco doesn't seem to track any transactions for me anymore.

You don't have to top up another £20, minimum wallet funding from empty is £5. I had a couple of quid left and bought wakeboarding HD for £6.29 (or thereabouts) and it took £4 something off my associated card. Hope this helps.

A £3.09 saving on an otherwise instant £20 card purchase or shop purchase?
Doesn't seem like a deal to me, have to wait for delivery also.

When it hits £15 then maybe hot but no at this price.

£3.09 per card though, it all adds up and is better in your pocket than someone elses surely that's the point of this site?

If you want a discount and instant redeemability go with shopto.net for £17.85 shopto.net/PS3…tml

I got my last ones from zavvi (£80 worth for £58) see how the discounts stack up? Lol

Fair point but for me £20 would be more than enough, if there were more to buy on PSN like full ps3 games instead of add on's and psp content then maybe. If you were to have got two full priced ps3 games with it for £58 then it would be a bargain.

There are loads of games on the store and some of the stuff on PSN is awesome, Trine, Joe Danger, wipeout Hd etc (loads more but I'm tired and going to bed) it also seems like PSN+'s full game trial (not to mention free LBP for subscribing for a year) will be the advent of full titles becoming available through the store. Half of my £80 credit is going to pay for a years subscription and see how that works out!

You could always start with the offers that commenced this week:

]European PlayStation Store Special Offers until 7 July 2010 with "Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 1" for 99p!

As AndrewRoss mentioned there are full games available on the PlayStation Store. Some are also available on Blu-ray Disc ("WipEout HD", "Pain", "The Watchmen: The End Is Nigh [Parts 1 & 2]", "Burnout Paradise", "Siren: Blood Curse", "SOCOM: [U.S. Navy SEALs] Confrontation", "Warhawk", "Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty", "Hail to the Chimp", & "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue", amongst others, for example).

The new PlayStation Plus (note: not "PSN+") service is starting on 29 June 2010 (see the Official EU PlayStation Blog: "]Updated: Prices and Content | PlayStation Plus Explained") & this will offer a (free) downloadable version of the (original, not "Game of the Year" edition, or PSP version of the) "LittleBigPlanet" title. "inFAMOUS" was discussed as also being available for download, but this is not available at the launch of the service (possibly from 4 August 2010 onwards; to be confirmed).

You mentioned PSP titles, but missed the PS3/PSP "]minis" range of games as well (that have been available since 1 October 2009).

Additionally, the PlayStation Store also offers the facility to rent or purchase (Standard Definition & High Definition format) movies in the "Video Store", or download "Digital Comics" to a PlayStation Portable console.

I would imagine that as more & more PlayStation Network accounts are 'upgraded' to using the PlayStation Plus service (from Tuesday next week) that you will find less people willing to hand-over their accounts to relative strangers.

lol thanks for correcting me and the added information, as I said I was tired and it was touted by many to be called PSN+ for months! I'm glad you got a good deal, but established members will be able to offer you accounts of their (bad) experiences with Additions Direct (as well as Littlewoods, Empire Stores, & Very.co.uk) so many of us stay clear of deals from these organisations.

I used the term "PSN+" a few times in the months leading up to the official announcement as well.

I wasn't singling you about specifically; there are plenty of examples of people stating "PSN+" in the Official EU PlayStation Blog thread I referenced.

If you have one master account, but separate sub-accounts for use on your two consoles then you will be able to share the downloadable content provided by the service.

However, if you have two master accounts then you will have to subscribe to PlayStation Plus twice (if I am reading the description of the service & the ongoing discussions in the Blog entry comments correctly).

We have four PS3 consoles in our household. I have a master account, two of my kids have two sub-accounts each, and my youngest offspring has just one.

If I was interested in the service then I think all six accounts (1 x master account & 5 x sub-account) could use the same subscription.

However, for me the current summary of benefits are not attractive at the subscription price.

(Taken from my comments on page 11 [#]159] in the "]PS3 PlayStation Plus £39.99" deal thread)

Anything I have wanted on the PlayStation Store (at a price I was happy to pay) to date I have bought. Everything in the "Month 1" & "Month 2" selection quoted in the Blog article that I would want I already have bought, for instance.

The PSP/PS3 "minis" have never grabbed my interest, & I have all the PlayStation (One) Classics I would ever want on original PlayStation CD-ROM discs. If any of the titles I have listed below were to be available to play on a PSP(go) then I may be interested, but so far the selection of “PS1” (so-called) Classics have not been any of the bygone titles I would want to play again (on a handheld device, or a home-based console).

PlayStation titles:
“Bishi Bashi”
“Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring”
“Rage Racer”
“Nightmare Creatures" / "Nightmare Creatures 2”
“The Adventures of Lomax”
“Pandemonium" / "Pandemonium 2”
“Tombi” / “Tombi 2” ["Tomba!")
“Spider-Man” / “Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro”
“Xena: Warrior Princess”

(all of the above I still own from their original PlayStation CD-ROM release; not the Platinum re-releases, where applicable).

I am, therefore, thinking that if I did not buy anything from the PlayStation Store for the next twelve months then the PlayStation Plus subscription would start to become a good deal some time in 2012, but I cannot justify spending the £39.99 at present.

I would have preferred the 3 month trial (or 15 months for the price of 12 months) like the US PlayStation Network Account holders are being offered, as our household already owns four individual "LittleBigPlanet" PS3 titles (& a PSP Universal Media Disc-based version). I also have doubts whether I would ever have space on my 60GB PS3 to download “LittleBigPlanet”. Not that it is not a good game (as I mentioned in my review, “]LittleBigWasteOfTime?”), but it is not on my list to play regularly enough to warrant it being immediately available on my console’s hard drive. It would also be taking up valuable space that can be better used for more recent PlayStation Network (only) titles (or downloadable content for titles I own on Blu-ray Discs).

Regarding one of the other features; I would also like to be in charge of when & how my PS3 is updated with game patches & System Software updates.

Maybe I am just weird like that, but I am all too mindful of certain downloads that cause more problems that they cure, & I do not wish to find that a title that was working has now been made inoperable outside of my control.

...

Since I made the above comments, I have discussed the subject with a few existing (and long-standing) PlayStation Network account holders & a majority are going to "wait & see" what the service can offer them in the future. Not many are considering taking a subscription from tomorrow (or for the initial two/three month period).

From what I've read your understanding of that is as confused as mine! The new T.O.S. specifically state that automatic downloads will be tied to a single console per account. Regarding the games, all the information so far states they will be playable by other users on the same console. I have one account, that account is activated on both ps3's. In my opinion I reckon the games will have Playstation Plus beside the expiry section, and will check that the console is Playstation Plus activated. Someone mentioned "the content only checks for Playstation Plus, yes or no, and has no idea if there has been a break in the persons subscription". I have a distinct feeling this activation will be tied to one console.

Either way subscribing on day one is complete stupidity as there is no June content so buying on the 29th entitles you to LBP, and content until next June. But subscribing at the end of July entitles you to next July's content as well for the same price. If it's a continuous subscription of course that won't matter but for people who don't resubscribe you get more by waiting a few weeks. And yes I realise they will only be playable until the subscription ends but anything bough with discounts, avatars, themes and dlc are all yours to keep.

You make a very valid point about when to initiate the twelve month subscription.

In case you have missed them, there are some comments from other members in this thread:
]PS3 PlayStation Plus £39.99

I have posted a link in that thread to your comment above as I think it may assist or influence many people with their decision making today.

I was basing my notion of master/sub-account usage on this quote taken from the Official EU PlayStation Blog post "]Updated: Prices and Content | PlayStation Plus Explained" (Posted on 23 June by James Thorpe – PlayStation Network Product Manager):

James Thorpe

Some other answers to frequently asked questions from the last ]blog post … Some other answers to frequently asked questions from the last ]blog post - * Cross-game chat is not currently included in PlayStation Plus. * You need to be the master account holder on the PS3 and be over 18 to purchase a Plus membership but other accounts on that PS3 will be able to play the games you download for as long as you are a member. * The 4 games you can download each month are yours to keep for as long as you are a member. * Playstation Plus is for PS3 owners as membership can only be purchased on the PS3 Store.
