Freedom Pop is a mobile operator now available to everyone in the UK. They are similar to Ovivo, but appear to be going about things the right way by previously operating in the USA, and also raising large amounts of funding.

Great for light or emergency use.

Make sure to:

Ensure all the boxes in the shopping cart are unticked - namely the Premium Voice Trial option in the Basic 200 package that is ticked by default

You need to pay £1.99 each month to keep the service going

You can deselect that option and pay nothing.
what network are they using?

I believe they are using Three. You get to choose a mobile number from a selection of numbers at checkout too!

Their website says they've been operating in the USA for a number of years and they have been backed by one of the founders of Skype.
can you please suggest what 6.99 is for?
signed up. worth a try. thanks

£5 to set up the account and £1.99 to post the sim card to you. You get to choose the size of sim card.

you need to pick the basic 200 package
hopefully this will last longer than ovivo.
Does this work with any phone?
The service seems to work off wimax towers?
I am waiting for 3 of these sims. The charges i paid where - 1p activation fee and £1.99 p&p. I deselected everything and so will get 200 mins, 200 texts and 200Mb each month for free. You can pay £1.99 to roll your leftover data each month. There are various other options you can select. You can also perform tasks to increase your data allowance each month. I will test it and see how it goes.
Interesting, sounds better than ovivo
I don't understand how they will maintain this service, it's exactly on the same model as ovivo and will go burst.
Activation is showing at five pounds how do you get 1p activation for nano sim?

Sorry unlimited text instead of minutes
When i did it last week via an invite it was 1p activation.

It's not misleading. You need to deselect an option to not pay £1.99 a month.
Cheers, this may be exactly what my mum needs!

If mobiles.co.uk cease trading, how much total redemption cashback will you lose? Compared to:
If FreedomPop cease trading, how much money would you lose?
Clue: one amount is huge; one amount is miniscule.
Be quite good if you have a dual sim phone, an extra bit of data.
Brought - Lets hope is does last longer than Ovivo....
Anybody seen any mention of UK (not US) number porting in / out options? Thanks.
Thanks OP.

It's definitely £1.99 a month after the initial trial.

How do you get this? The link takes me to a page that asks for a zip code but won't accept a UK postcode.
Heard about this a while back apparently they make their money on the cheap packages and such it's huge in the USA. This is great for just in case.
Is it only credit and debit card only.....

Business is the name of profit & loss. I know what you trying to say but to be honest I i have recovered 60 percent of my amount and next month it will be 80 percent will be recovered. Plus I am getting the services as well from well reputable company Like O2.
If you look at the porting number instructions it's still in US Dollars and relates to America. Great price, but not worth the effort from me until properly established.
they gave the impression its totally free. you pay the £6.99 and they have your card details to bill you freely in the future. no thanks

It's definitely not £1.99 after the initial trial if you ensure all the boxes in the shopping cart are unticked - namely the Premium Voice Trial option in the Basic 200 package that is ticked by default - it's a bit cheeky because the price is showing as FREE so a quick glance makes it look like it's all free, but if you look the 1.99/month is crossed out.

If you untick this then the small print updates to show

Thanks

Yes, I stand corrected! It is free after all!
MrPercent

Brought ..

Where did you bring it?
What happens if you exceed the 200mb? Do you get stung for huge charges, or does it just stop working?
Read about these guys last year so glad to hear they're finally launched. I would be all over this but living in the isles in the far north Vodafone & O2 are the only half decent coverage carriers up here - and we don't even have 3G with them, let alone 4G! Heat from me all the same op.
Is anyone actually using the service yet?
