Can only assume that it is done then - might be worth giving them a quick call to double check.

Just done one for my dad and its the same, i presume all is well , not very clear tho , thanks OP

Thanks OP

cool thanks

Cheers

no confirmation of points being added, but did add the card and used my gas and leccy acc number so fingers crossed!!

many thanks OP

Crashed with a massive application error at the end, had to change values from "from main heating" to something else to get it to submit

Blast. I've just switched from EDF to British Gas to save myself about £400 p.a. on my gas and electricity and I could have got £10 off at Argos had I stayed with them. Can't beat a good old french company for offering their British customers a bargin! Shame they don't bring down their prices instead of offering these bum deals.

Did anyone get their points for the internet dongle recently? Mine still aren't showing up....

Are you sure british gas are cheaper - how can you save £400 a year! what are you heating the albert hall??

I phoned them up today & she said that they would put them on. I would recommend that you phone them as well.
Can you remember how many points we were supposed to receive?
Thanks

Oops, off topic....Thanks for the heads up on EDF

Quite simple to check it out. Just go to the British Gas website. And yes I expect to save about £400 a year. At present annual cost is £1800. OK, so heating a swimming pool does cost a few bob but you dont have to live in the Albert hall to rack up that sort of cost.

Just checked on uswitch and got :

WebSaver 6 Dual Fuel »

Mandatory Paperless Billing
Cancellation fee of £30 gas and £30 electricity should you wish to cancel prior to the 1st August 2010
Offers a minimum 6% discount discount against British Gas standard prices until 1st May 2011
more 66%1368 reviews £1,009.49 Save £34.51

I wouldnt switch to british gas for a saving of £34 - I am on the duel fuel online v5 so im planning on waiting till july when the discount finishes then take quidco and go to another company (hoping there will be another £120 quidco offer) I must say though Ive been well happy with EDF since I have been with them.

EDF are now one of the most expensive suppliers...and french owned. You can also get discounts with Top Cashback when joining British Gas. I have no axe to grind, just don't think we should get ripped off with firms like EDF who are making massive profits at our expense and offering Nectar points in return. God forbid!!!!

Hot Hot Hot !! Thanks OP

Many thanks!!
I have also done the comparison sites on many occasions - EDF still come up the cheapest for me - when that changes so will I.

I suppose that depends on usage

Under compare the market and confused and basedon my working I have saved a fortune at EDF as opposed to British Gas. Whether that's because I have an online deal and pay by DD who knows

That's why philosophy.. check each 6 months ( or after a round of price changes ) and move on. Never tie myself into any deal which lasts more than 12 months or which I cna't exit easily

Only trouble I have is that we have IGT for gas, takes about two months for the gas transfer to go through, drives me nuts but worth it in the end - would never stay loyal to any company until they start showing loyalty to their customers :-D

Has anybody actually read the terms and conditions and understand them? To get the nectar points you need to commit to a new billing scheme. You need to read the meter yourself, tell EDF and they will send you a bill each month.

thanks

I do that anyway as I have an online account you also get extra points for doing your meter reading this way

I assume you are refering to point 6.... Customers already on read and reward scheme can join the scheme on the condition that they are withdrawn from their read and reward scheme.

I think this just refers to people on the existing reward scheme were they give you 2000 points for lowering your usage - you will no longer be given this. Your tarrif will remain the same
