That's 95% mountain bike. In fact, I'm not really sure which part is like a road bike for this to be classed as a hybrid.
Excellent hydraulic discs. Good stopping power in the wet or dry. oO
(but careful, 'carbon' is the colour, not the material!) :P
I got one in M when in stock, really good bike..
Can someone tell me what the difference is between this and a 29er hardtail?

It pretty much is a 29er hardtail.. with slightly thinner tyres than the average Hardtail
geometry looks like it might be a bit steeper than your typical mtb too... best to check!
63mm fork travel - I have 120mm and it still bottoms out sometimes, thinking of getting 140

I have the bike, it's not a proper MTB, but the 63mm still comes in handy as I have it set to very hard. so with a low pressure tire and it on hard setting it's a good set up.

I have recently just bought the Giant roam 2 from tredz for £350. The bike is excellent so I'd suggest people buy it from somewhere other than Rutland cycles.

I seem to have had a reasonable service from Rutland, any reason you think they should look elsewhere?

It's an insidious plot by America to take over the world (or can you not get a UK English predictive text on your phone?).

Bought a Giant Roam 4 from Rutland Cycling, it was so abysmally setup that I had to take it to my local bike shop, spent £40 sorting out all the problems it arrived with. Wouldn't touch them in future.

Or you could go on YouTube and type a few words describing your problem, with a "fix" or "set up" at the end & sort it out for yourself for free. Even £1000 bikes don't come 100% setup, it's impossible to set up properly due to the packing needed.

700c wheels... Tyres.... Different people require different things out of their bikes. Aside from the frame, forks and handlebars, it could be considered a road bike.

You'll bottom any fork out, regardless of the travel, if it's not set up properly
I like it. More mountain bike than road bike, but then again that goes quite well with the deplorable state of our roads here. If I can't fix my hybrid, I will get something like this.
I bought one of these from Rutland about a month ago at this price.
As I'm not a bike mechanic I didn't think the instruction on how to set the bike up were very clear. I ended up having to take this to a local bike shop for them to fix it.

Rutland is the cheaper of the two.. Roam 2 is£100 cheaper than Roam 1.

Roam 1 is better spec'd hence cost more. Roam 0 is the better spec'd and Roam 3 is the basic model.
