Android Oreo TV OS
10 bit (8bit +frc) IPS panel
60Hz real refresh
Triluminos 4K

Costco INSTORE offer only ((it might be added on the 12th May to the Costco website for free home deliveries subject to stock))

Last time Costco did this, they sold out in hours, but this is a better TV by miles!

Comes with the brilliant 5 year costco warranty!

Yes you do have to be a member, but as AO, JohnLewis, RicherSounds, Curry's will not price match with costco instore offers, it is well worth joining or asking someone who is a member already to grab you one, if you are really in the market for a great 4K set!!

Collections from when Costco opens on 12th but some *might* put the pallets out earlier!

Hope it helps at least one other person who wants a cracking 2018 TV!

Wasn't there a 55" mu7000 for less than this with VA panel, 10bit too?

10 bit (8bit +frc) is not real 10 bit
Is this better than the 49" KD49XE9005BU? Not including screen inches of course

Not that I have seen personally, the 49" MU was circa £650, there might have been a deal for the 55, but maybe it was hidden in the prehistoric search algo's that are hukd!!!!

I posted this one, as having looked / tested most of the 43/49/50/55 branded ones, this was one of the best 49" IPS ones, at my personal 4K tv test showroom.. flask of tea in hand...

Not a lot, other than price, VA panel and the 9005 is a native 120hz overlay.

Depends on main uses as a comparision, not sure what the 9005 can be got for, as they stopped with the run in sept 2017 and the ones sold now are just what is left, I have seen the 65" 9005 at a friends and also instore (tested with real 4K input) and it was very good, but for the reduction on this particular set (which is £200+ and more if you can or are able to buy it via a vat claim back method) just thought it was fab value VS size VS 2018 models...

Someone posted a 55" mu7000 for £669. Probably a better bet. hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-ue55mu7000-55-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-1000-smart-led-tv-tvplus-6-year-guarantee-669-with-code-at-richersounds-2937908

LOL!!! See... now that did not come up on any searches for it, after your comment!!!

Good price, but I love as in love IPS panels, va is ok, but just looks a bit too monitor like compared to an IPS, that is a fab price for a 55" 120hz refresh screen, I think the lag on those is also an issue for big style pro console gamers, but for a main bedroom or spare room or lounge tv, superb value!

I find the opposite, IPS panels tend to look more monitor-like.
They both have their pros and cons.

True, VA is the overall better choice!

VA on left and IPS on right

Doesn't VA have smaller viewing angles?

This is this year's model, mu7000 is last years.

Unsure if this is better, but Sony generally kick out nicer stuff than Samsung IMO for TVs.

Keen to hear feedback on this!!

Yeah ideally looking around October to bite the bullet. Gaming and films and sport are the main uses.
Their website seems to suggest 14th May rather than 12th? Looking at the leaflet :- viewer.zmags.com/pub…deb
I'm so confused about all the TV specs flying around, so this is a genuine question not meant to offend, but what makes this TV such a bargain given its 8bit +FRC? What does this offer that the other sub-500 quid 8bit+FRC 4k TVs don't?
