Great price if you are looking. It was great at the reduced price of £929, but for a 65' QLED 4K 2019 TV from Samsung, wow.

There will always be a QxxR model that we cannot afford! So bite when you see a good deal and settle!!

Might be worth adding the Make and Model to the first post. Samsung QE65Q60RATXXU.
£794 if you have a student email. I've just bought it. I didn't want to list it with its own post because its not accessible to everyone. It also has 5 year guarantee.

Reviews aren't great, not a true QLED.
Nearly fell off my chair thinking it was the Q70 but realised it was the Q60 edge lit meh Ok for the size though i guess so heat given
This TV had been €600 on Amazon Italy
£794 if you have access to the Samsung discount portal (students, emergency services, armed forces, employee perks etc.). 5 year warranty through there too, couldn't see what the next warranty is on the Amazon page.

If you know someone with access to Perks At Work you can pick up the 55q70r for £854 and then also get 8% back on that as well in wowpoints to use on something else (such as a gift card). The Samsung site has a 5% code which is why it's a decent price.

Anyway long story short, I bagged one.

How do I get this? Is it someone who works for Samsung?

I get it through work which isn't Samsung. If you know someone who works for a large company they might have some form of Perks access or direct access to Samsung EPP.

I'd rather have the 65" though. I'm happy with what I've got. I was a bit worried i had made the wrong decision for a while.

No worries. I don't know why they don't just include that 5% voucher in the price. Must be some kind of marketing psychology where the punter gets an adrenaline boost or something.

It worked then
See lot of bad opinions about q60 compared with q70. I found great opinion in YouTube.

Get the Q70 only if you are gonna use it mostly in a very dark room - without any sort of lightning, not even led stripes - The big difference between these 2 TV's is the "full array local dimming" aka "FALD" that is gonna reduce the bloom effect in dark scenes and improve contrast overall but it comes with some big disadvantages that usually are not mentioned in reviews.

1- FALD makes the TV thicker and way heavier
2.- It usually causes uniformity issues and affect brightness in certain areas. In the video the white square looked less white in the Q70 because the local dimming was turning off backlight zones around the square to avoid bloom effect on the black background, but at the same time was making it look less bright because it probably doesn't have that many zones since the Q70 is just a mid range model.

My humble advice for people is to go for the cheaper, lighter, thiner Q60. Picture quality is gonna be almost identical and the advantages of the full array local dimming are in so few scenarios (for most people usage) that it's not really worth it and in many cases, unless you get the most expensive top of the line TV with FALD (they have double or triple the number of dimming zones as the mid range models) is better not to have it at all because when the dimming zones are too big they end up causing other issues worst than having a little blooming in very specific scenes
Just placed my order for the 65” Q60 for total of £794. Cheers OP and for everyone, saved myself over £130...... I’m so gassed!!!!!!!!!!!
Any deals on a 50 or 55?
Great tv literally bought this one on Monday. Only thing I can’t get to work is my soundbar. Coming from a 49” this 65” is MASSIVE! If you can get it for under £800 like I did it’s a bargain.
Can anyone still get this deal for around £800 via Unidays? Thanks
Whats the warranty on this? Is it the 10 year?
How do you apply the student discount. I have added my email but ... I am no further forward. Please send help. 🙈

Unfortunately, you have to go through unidays, there is no discount code. I've cancelled my order though, I went to look at them today and they're not great.

Not that I can’t afford it. I just don’t want to lose £300 in a matter of weeks... The Q70R was reduced by £240 this week alone.

Low end QLED and mid/high end LED. It’s a bit of a mix of both and gets middling reviews (7/10). It’s basically a very colourful LED TV with some QLED technology. It has poor black levels and is very reflective and has bad viewing angles.

Q80R and above have the basically non-reflective surface, but the cheapest for the Q80R is £1,025 (with student discount) for the 55” at Samsung.

That's a shame, a bit out of my price range. Are there any other similar alternatives from other manufacturers?

Not that I’m aware of. OLED can be good at diffusing reflections, but it isn’t as bright so you ideally want a darker room for that to begin with. Buying a TV isn’t easy!

I went to view the Samsung QLEDs today and it’s between a 65” Q70R which is nice and big and has very good blacks but reflects badly, or a 55” Q85R which is same size as current TV but has no reflection and a superior image... They cost the exact same.
Which would be better. This or a Panasonic gx800

Would there be much of a difference between this 65" Q60 to a UE65RU7400?
