Seems like a good deal. I am after a 65 with a budget of 900, is this the best there is?
Is this a full 4k panel or another RGBW panel?
Is this true hdr 10 please?
The Local Dimming on these LG's is terrible, please believe me when I say AVOID LG for LCD!!
Better to get OLED 55", was for this price last month...

Or just wait for OLED 65" around £1000, this will happen this year probably...
Is this better than the 65ks8100 last years model??

Its a real UHD panel, not an almost UHD rgbw panel

Depending on where or what you will be watching, these LCD panel LG's are a bit better from a nits point of view, compared to the 2017 ones, which were better than the LG oLED ones, as they are dull as ditch water, if it is for use in a bright room or a family viewing need, then the Samsung qLED is the way to go, if one of these is not sufficient enough at under £900!

If you have a budget, any of the 10bit 8000's or if you can stretch to it and do not want the 2500nits Samsung qLED, then the best is one of the new may 9000 ranges, I have seen the 9000pua with full array dimming, 120hz true 10bit with about 800nits (working range) and it is breathtaking, yet very family / use anywhere friendly.

The nanocell LG's are much better than any of the 10bit (8bit + frc) panels, then its a step up to the Samsung Q9's

Nothing to do with being a fan

We have both, the technology on most 2018 > 2019 TV's far exceeds any "normal" use, say by a family, sitting down for movie night... the comparison I am making, is that 400nit oLED's, up until the very latest AUO & LG 800nit panels for Q1 2019 were all dull to watch, fab for blackout stuff, but not so, for everyday use...

Hence why, the "other" tech.. qLED is so popular... even with the rubbish 1000nit 2 year old 120Hz panels in the Samsung's you just cannot beat the output from them, for normal, all round use

Maybe for bright rooms, but for the rest I disagree... But thanks for explaining!

What's the backlight array like on this? My current LG has 3 vertical bands which is naff... after a full array.

Looks like you're never going to buy another TV again then, no one seems to be making those anymore.
"Google built in, so no waiting around for Alexa or Bixby, to change channels for you with their voice lag!"

That's a hard disagreement from me. I disconnect "smart" TVs the second I get them; always better to use external technologies to interact with them. My Chromecast is just fine thank you.
£100 Cashback on Quidco to, absolute steal!

Buy the 65sm8200 extra £100 if u want gd price lg
I'm surprised no one mentions Sony tvs and always recommends Samsung QLEDS.

I recently bought 65 inch Sony Xf9005 from Costco for £1200 and its brilliant..

I did my research and it's the best one to get for the price.

I like oled tvs but the way some members of my family watch TV, it's too risky because if burn in.

The Sony tv I got is much brighter than an oled and has great picture processing. Black levels are also quite good.

So I recommend that TV.

This LG TV isn't that great for the price i reckon

yeah the sony tv is a beast, after the 65 inch myself but cheapest i,ve seen is 1500 quid.yeah the oled may have better blacks, but there dim as heck, the sony slaughters it for sustained peak brightness, besides i dont want to babysit an oled tv,just to try and limit its burn in,forget that, sony FTW any day of the week. And no i wouldnt buy a sony oled or any other oled either.

Google built in? TVs are pretty much straight out of 1984. I’d actually happily pay a little extra to have one that doesn’t automatically transcribe everything it hears onto some server somewhere...

Agree I prefer the swing qled panel for sports and gaming.Oled looks great but just can't get bright enough for me and prefer the Samsung overall and no screen burn issue.

One of the repair guys in our workshop would tell you to go Qled.

I have a 55 lg Oled lovely it is but I've had troubles, boards and screen and richer sounds have been dismissive. 2 repairs in about as many years. Both in a month or so period.

Ten year old tellies hold up, these new ones are awful. I would double your budget and buy a spare. There's a 50% chance ya gonna need it.

I and many others LOVE sony real 4K panels! I personally do not always recommend Samsung, its just when you have a couple and you have seen them up against all the others (properly tested!) they outshine the lot, when it comes to everyday, normal, run of the mill family use, in everyday scenarios.

It is also a bit unfair to compare a £1400 Sony FALD backlight X1 Pro set to this deal, if the XF90's were dropped £400-500, then it would be a deal, I was not comparing this TV for £899 to a sony, I was just saying, in my very humble opinion, that qLED for most, is a cost effective and watch anywhere solution, for 4K media watching today, compared to the oLED, that is dull as ditchwater and half as bright for normal viewing

For the price, this is a great TV, yes there are more out there, that might be better to some, for £300 or so more than this price, but I posted this deal, purely on the price drop on the 65" variant and the fact its the April 2019 panel being flogged in it, the next ones, apart from Sony & Samsung, would be the LG 8 or even 9000 2019 ones, with the nanocell panel but they are much more!
