sorted byA lot of games aren’t 4K on ALL consoles. Most are upscaled.
Always funny to see this comment pop up all the time on these deals when it wasn’t a concern when we’ve spent most of last generation with non-4K consoles on 4KTVs.
In fact, most of your viewing on these won’t even be 4K to it’s fullest, unless you only use a PC to game and only watch 4K blu rays.
Upscaled 4K is still 4K my good sir, just not native 4K.
Also which generation was you on? Xbox One X had plenty of great 4K presentations.
If it were a 65” tv your more likely notice the difference between a 1080p or upscaled image and a native 4k image but 48” is quite small when it comes to 4k.
With this you still get the benefits of 120fsp and OLED blacks.
Seems like a great deal if you’re interested in a new (smaller sized) TV and an Xbox. (edited)
😴😴😴😴
The Xbox One X looked incredible on a 4K TV, so yes of course the Ps5 and Series X look even better.
I guess you're just trolling now with your "muh PC" comments?
Yes I know there are a few select indie games that run in 4K on the Series S
I'm talking generally, it's not generally a 4K console and it isn't intended to be in the slightest. It's marketed as a 1440p console. (edited)
Because someone was spreading inaccurate information. It's almost like they have some weird grudge against a piece of hardware. Heavens know why, it's not football
So upscaled 4k is still 4K, and the Series S (and your tv) upscales to 4K so therefore... Your previous comment was pointless?
Having some native 4K games on One X doesn't invalidate what I just said either. I said MOST. Not all weren't 4K.
As far as I'm aware the Series S doesn't upscale to 4K (atleast not well) as that's not what it's designed for, I.e you can tell its not 4K. The Ps4 Pro and Xbox One X did a much better job, using clever rendering tech.
My original comment still stands. Why waste such a beautiful screen on a console that won't show it off as well as a Ps5 or Series X could? (edited)
So these TVs can only be purchased by people who buy a gaming PC or UHD blu ray player so they can use it to it's fullest. Got it.
Have to laugh at people like you who keep parroting this rubbish. The Series X and PS5 already have non-4k titles. That'll only get worse as time goes on.
It seems that you are not aware that games can be run at native 4k on the Series S. The target is 1440p but it's up to the game developers what they choose to support. For example, Ori and the blind forest runs at 4k 60fps. Yes a Series X will support more 4k games at faster rates, but to say the Series S doesn't support 4k is incorrect.
Getting boring now.
My original comment was merely to say that the TV would be much better suited with a Series X.
End of.
Except it clearly wasn't obvious to you...
A higher spec TV has better upscalers/tech within them which means they handle lower quality sources better than a cheaper, lesser spec would. Feeding a Series S or Switch to a lower quality 4KTV would make it look bad. Or are we now going to claim cheaper TVs look better than a higher spec TV with 1080p/1440p?
So as I said, spec sheet chasers not actually understanding TV tech and how it works, claim every time this deal pops up that a Series S is a waste on this tv when in actual fact, it's best for it. I haven't once said a Series X or PS5 wouldn't be better for this, I'm saying the Series S just having a rendering resolution of up to 1440p (on most games), doesn't mean it's a waste on this TV. It's the usual lot going "buh 4K" that can't seem to grasp this.
Oh and ExZero... Liking your own comments. That is just sad. (edited)
Ah the old “I knew really, I was just baiting you” response.
Which usually translates to “I didn’t have a clue what I was talking about, therefore I’m going to pretend it was a wind up”.
Or, you were baiting, posting incorrect comments that may put people off a great deal who might otherwise be looking for help with this deal.
Either way. It’s not a good look is it? So…grow up?
Unless you are a YouTube influencer or forum fanatic, my real world experience with an S and PS4 plugged into a CX 77” and the X and PS5 into a CX 65” (don’t ask, pandemic, no travel expenditure, lots of time at home etc…), I see absolutely no difference because, unlike Influencers - we play the game for the content and immersion not to spot out pixel differences...
I still cringe inside when my son plays Minecraft on the 77” but, as I said, it’s not all about the specs!
This is a decent deal due to lack of availability but, in a parallel universe with ample availability, I would get the 55” CX for £900ish from Costco and the S separately and do the Game Pass Ultimate stacking trick - this totally wipes the PS+ and EA subs I have which I am tempted to return the PS5 for the total disappointment that it is. (edited)
Odd, you made no comment about 4k games before only trying to belittle the console with 1440p statements.
I'm not sure Moon studios is now classified as an indie studio since it was taken over by Microsoft.
Yes the console is marketed as 1440p target for games, however this console has the hardware to output 4k games if the developers want and it naively outputs 4k for streaming videos.
If you want to complain about the lack of 4k games then you'd have a point, but that's not the crux of your statements.
Far from it. My gaming PC got retired last year. I own a Series X and am in the market for a PS5, so you're wrong there. I'm just a someone who actually understands TV/gaming tech who realises seeing 1440p on a spec sheet isn't the be all and end all when it comes to deciding whether it should be connected to a 4K TV. "I don't like what you're saying" doesn't equal trolling by the way. Silly comment to make.
The Series S is fine on a 4K tv. Especially one this size. It's a great deal for any person not worried about the extra power of the PS5/Series X.
Never said it wasn't fine for a 4K TV...
I think you've looked far too into my original comment.
I was just saying that this high spec TV would be better with a Series X.
Is that not true?
It's not only true, it's blindingly obvious. You'd have to be a fool to spend that much on an exceptional TV to then connect it up to a series S. I'm pretty sure even the TV would hate you for doing it.
I'm not so sure. Isn't the optimal viewing distance like 1 meter away for this TV size with 4k content? If you sit further back then a larger screen would be better for a Series X.
Although this is all moot, the deal is for the products offered. It's like saying a 100" oled is better than this without mentioning it's also a lot more expensive.

Yeah the 8K thing is a bit strange because if they don't actually release any 8K content.. Could be misselling lawsuit.
120fps 1440p though
Incorrect.
The emoji was for your last sentence
Always gets people.
But also, don't tell people to grow up when you yourself are wasting your time arguing with strangers over the Internet. (edited)
Can't carry on with this nonsense I'm afraid, as I have to go get some new tyres out for my new Ferrari. Looking at some nice part-worn Chinese unbranded tyres. Im sure the performance of the car will make up for the cheap tyres.
My 8 year old Samsung still looks amazing with PS4 and Xbox One X games and, at this point, im considering just getting a QHD monitor for the extra One X boost.
1080p/2k/4k on PC is whatever you deem it to be, on console your choice is less so. Choice, common sense and £ give everyone the option of choice and a certain amount of future proofing. I myself have a 5900x/3090 Rig so wanted a XBS, for some console gaming, absolutely perfect, could have gone for the XBX, but would have just been a PC down grade. So yeah we get it, you haven't a pot to p*ss in and live in a void.
PS: if you want a PS5 get on SM, i got mine within a week at MSRP.
I checked for 55 TV, can get in bundle but obviously more expensive and code don't work
