Absolutely terrible customer services
Decent deal. I almost moved to Virgin but they said they do not offer tethering on their sim only plans.

(still voted hot btw!)

I always tether without issues even though you are not allowed
I'm on the same plan as this except it's 30 days and on £13 line rental

I'm on the same deal for £15 and I tether too, albeit with an iPhone not a laptop.
Virgin Broadband customers only? Otherwise its £24

The 8GB plans at just £12 looks quite good too?
Absolutely terrible customer services
Yeah, the rep told me tethering is not allowed but people do it. But I’d rather have piece of mind. However, I’m sure they’ll just allow it soon enough

I use tethering about 6 times a week. No problems at all.

Sounds great! Wasn’t to be for me and jumped at the BT deals and got a load of amazon vouchers
Does this work if you're an existing Virgin Mobile customer?
On same deal but monthly rolling contract for 15 a month. Tether all the time through phone to tablet and other phone. Not a problem, never had warning from them. Customer service has been excellent when I have rung to change billing date and ask about using abroad.

Ditto
Good deal.
This is a cracking deal. Paying £9 for 5GB with VM. Not sure whether to go for this or wait for a Voda or EE deal with cashback for cheaper.

Decisions, decisions...
This deal is good if your buying the Note 8 Handset rather than paying monthly on the Note And Sim
Hmm, I'm sure three offers 30gb for £20 unlt mins and texts

You cannot just rely on reviews you need to test and trial

I have 2 plusnet sims for frirnds and have no issues even when I ported in numbers and I use virgin
Why does one of largest Broadband provider need to piggyback on EE. Why can't they create their own mobile network.
EE

Same here. Sole reason I didn't take up their offers despite being a broadband customer. Either Virgin Media just don't listen or EE insist on this. Seems weird that a company tries to stipulate how we use our data when it's not even a "unlimited" tariff. 20GB is 20GB surely.
So does plusnet offer tethering also?

Just updated mine from £10 for 5GB to this £18 for 20GB.

12 months starts again mind.

My contract refreshes 1st every month, I'm currently down to 350mb for remaining 7 days. Without me even asking the guy said he would top me up by 1GB to cover me until refresh date.

Don't get the poor customer service thing (Although, probably in their interest as I have just increased my monthly bill)

Yes
I'm already with them and have tried TWICE in the past to upgrade by phone AND through my online account.
Phone said it would 'refresh' to new tariff at next refresh date, both times it didn't.
Tried through online account (even just 2 minutes ago) and got the message 'Oops, something went wrong'.........
I get the feeling they don't want people's money / business.........
I've always had a great experience of their customer service

You can tether. I asked them and they said I could.
I'm on the same deal for £5/month. I tether just fine.

In short it's way more expensive than you think. Virgin Media have a revenue of £4 billion or so, EE's 4G spectrum chunk cost them £600 million back in 2013. That's not even the equipment, that's just the rights to broadcast on those frequencies. It also costs them £75 million a year to maintain those rights. The next auction is coming up in October this year so since 2013 there has been no opportunity for new mobile networks to spring up unless they've been piggybacking.
