Seems like a great price for the film trilogy which has recently taken Japan by storm. You can also get the trilogy boxset for £14.99 at the following link but if you're not sure then you could always try the first chapter before parting with 15 quid.

The price is also matched by Amazon for both products but seems to be higher everywhere else I've looked online.

20th Century Boys seems to have been inspired in parts of the story by the works of Stephen King, containing allusions to It and The Stand. However, the story draws allusions mostly from rock and roll, with its title based on T. Rex's famous song, "20th Century Boy".

In 1969, Kenji, an elementary school kid and his friends built a secret base during their summer holidays. They fantasized that they had to fight villains who were out to conquer the world and wrote them in the "Book of Prophecies".

Years later in 1997, Kenji becomes a convenience store manager and leads a regular life after giving up his dreams to become a rock star. His boring life is suddenly turned upside down when his old classmate dies mysteriously and an entire family in the neighbourhood disappears. At the same time, a religious cult and its mysterious leader, "Friend" emerges and a strange chain of events duplicating exactly the events described in the "Book of Prophecies" follow. Is this the beginning of the end of the world? Who is 'Friend'?

Basically, this is 2010's Death Note.

I've read the manga of this and it's one of the best I've ever read, didn't know there was a film about it.
If it's anything like the manga then this is a must buy.
I just took a look around; apparently the first movie is loyal to the manga, second and third not so much.

I know, it's weird what's happened with the film to be honest, they have been the biggest grossing movies in Japan for the last two years running but the western DVD release has been really low key with them just being released here in the last month or so or being released in North America later over the summer.

Apparently part 1 and 2 was shown at a film festival in London last year, but we do usually have to wait a long while before we get dvds, same thing happened with death note

I know, I want to see Secret Reuinion at the moment but it looks like I may have to wait a while for that.
