Strangely enough my Makita kit is made in China and I expect quality from makita.
For that money you can get similar tools from a respected DIY brand such as WORX and have a whole range of compatible tools available. Much of the cost is in the batteries so invest in a platform which lets you buy bare tools and has a large range for workshop and garden use.

Sticking a germanic name on poor, generic tools does not make them any better! If they called them 'yingyang' or something would you still be interested?
