Saw these yesterday.
A pack of 20 zinc AA batteries for £1.50
(They usually sell the 4 packs for about 70p I think)

Personally, I use rechargeables but this is a great deal for people who want/need disposable batteries.

what a waste of natural resources... I won't even bother picking them up!
You get what you pay for in this case!

well i bought some and they are ok. ive used rechargeables before at home and work and tbh i thought they were crap.

yes you do pay for what you get but duracells cost a small fortune and 20AA for £1.50 is hot.

You must've been using the wrong rechargables. I have many types, but some of the best ones are also made by Duracell. 2500mAh AAs are fantastic. Standard non-rechargable cells don't even come close to the capacity of those things, especially in devices like digital cameras.

I can't believe that people still buy disposable cells in this day and age. I've got about a dozen AAs AAAs and I've never needed to buy a battery in years! What could be more convenient than that?

I know the price is cheap for the amount of batteries but all things considered, I think this is a poor purchase. Batteries like this never last and it's absolutely terrible for the environment - especially as most people just throw them in the bin.

+1 to dvs

hopefully EU bans these non rechargable batteries soon

You can get 20x Kodak or Panasonic or Sony batteries in Poundland.. for a £1 btw. Since I have easier access to Poundland than Morrisons, cold from me.

If you used rechargeables you wouldn't need to "access" any shop! And you'd be paying about five times less!

Well put. Sometimes it needs big government to step in to protect people from their own stupidity, especially when it impinges on everyone else.
