SATA power cables are a part of your Power Supply!

*****Talicus**** As long as you don not buy the cables from dsg or pcworld you won't go far wrong
Though not mentioned, only OEM excludes cables & software

Excellent price for a Blu-ray drive. I paid £50 for this over a year ago.

"Bundle offer - MyMemory Mobile Travel stand Included," is a bit red flimsy plastic that you can bend and put things on... and then watch them fall off.

Shame there's no s/w with it.

Strange - BD-ROM drives have sunk in terms of price, yet BD-RE are still almost as expensive as they were when they first appeared?

It seems most people use blu-ray devices to only play blu-ray movies.

I don't see real use of writing data to blu-ray. Too much of a risk to lose that much data. Hard drive prices have fallen, which most people now use as a means of backing up.

Blu-ray computer software for watching films is a pain in the bum. The best free way is with VLC as follows
    vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/
but that's a bit old and so may not work with new films.

There are lots of free trials and this was one (Leawo) was good. Not sure what the price will be after the beta period.

Yeah - sux big time. VLC doesn't work with quite a lot of the films - I had to buy PowerDVD for around £50 for the Ultimate version (they had a deal of sorts a few months back).

You might want to consider the deluxe version for £35 cyberlink.com/pro…tml

MyMemory: Every order I've placed with them, they have cancelled due to insufficient stock.

The drive: Bought one from another retailer, great for reading movies but struggles with data discs and pre-burnt blanks (you can hear it miss reading very noisy).
I got an OEM drive so came with just clear plastic bag packaging (goes in bin anyway) and OEM copy of PowerDVD10 (same serial code for all drives by the looks of things) which needed updating to play newer blurays but works just fine
