I found this is quite amazing value for a Multi-touch screen, especially at 21.5" as well.

2 built-in speakers
Included Touch Pen for proper text input

Have DVI-D in, HDMI, VGA in, Audio in, USB port (for use with touch function)

====================
Have just used it for 30 mins, this screen is amazing, easy to setup. The screen quality is very good. The multi-function function only works on Windows 7, not MAC OSX. Very accurate touching, like on your iPhone, response rate is very quick as well.

The screen is glossy, only LCD back-lit but looks like LED back-lit. Picture is crisp colorful.

I do recommended this screen to anyone who is looking to buy an external monitor, as it worth every penny, especially the multi-touch function is absolutely fantastic

The pen is for more accuracy when you do typing by onscreen keyboard I guess.

And it can be touched by finger as well. I just bought mine, will set it up later on today and will post the review

Thanks

Connect usb to your PC, and it shows up as a mouse...

If you are willing to pay postage on top, I am willing to pick on up tomorrow for you

This screen is amazing, better than the HannsG and Digimate that I have bought recently.

HOT!

wonder if it would work with ps3 as it works as pc usb mouse and usb mouse works on ps3 or does it need software as well

amazing price!

Sorry guys for being thick...advice greatly appreciated.

If I got some this, would I just remove the existing monitor and plug this into the desktop PC? Does it then do everything in the same way as I would with a mouse or is it only certain programs that are compatible? Can you also have a normal mouse plugged in, so you could use whichever you want at random? And is there some way of doing functions that you'd do on a mouse like right click, drag & drop etc that you can't do on an ipad and the likes?

Thinking of it for 6yr old son's Christmas as he loves playing touchscreen games on my iphone, plus 2yr old is good with the computer but struggles with the mouse.

Liking the idea very much if it would do what I want it to do! Thanks for any help.

Great price!

What is the point leaving fingerprints all over the screen?

You won't see much after that.

It'll be will like a mouse and not specific to particular programs.

This has got to be amazing with Ubuntu - since it does multi touch gestures etc. Would be great to develop Bibud on as well.

im after one of these.....ill try my local store tomorrow!!! heres hoping

Oh, please, someone get me one so I can have one when they're sold out and stuff. I get paid on halloween and will then be able to afford it. By which time I fear it will be gone...

I only live near a small aldi... will give it a shot in the morning though... great deal

Does it have a VESA mount on the back?

Hoping to find one of these in my local tomorrow.

Ah, this screen works on Vista/ XP with one finger scrolling, multi touch on Windows 7 only, to do right click, youjst hold one finger on the screen, one click on the screen, the right click menu will pop up

And drag and drop is basically DRAG and DROP, very simple

Thanks to mumbojumbo has posted the youtube video, the scrolling thing is quite good

ANd yes, this has VESA mount at the back, as it has 4 holes there..lol

I really want something like this to mount on a wall and act as a jukebox, ie operate and access music, videos, photos etc and play music via a connected system.

I've seen this done with an Ipad, he was even contolling his lights dont know how that was set up, but do you think i could do something similar with this ? any suggestions how ?

Thats actually borderline offensive, and completely uncalled for. You have no idea about their financial situation...I was living out of overdraft all this summer but ti was only because I was waiting for a backlog of several months wages. Very, very rude.

it was a blunt response but really, you think someone who is unable to afford something that is £129 is in a good financial situation??

I think it's a problem for society to think living on overdrafts is not a bad thing.

Some might say offensive.

Debt and greed for materialistic items that aren't essential aren't good things in my view.

Regarding the deal I'm voting hot. Will pop to a store to see if they have any stock. Very tempted.

Hi i and my 3 year old son have this monitor he uses it as a touch screen, i don`t. It has multi touch pinch to zoom and that it is Vesa 100 X 100 as i have wall mounted my sons monitor under my tv in the front room. Its a very nice screen i do have to point out that after some time you have to "recalibrate" the screen i do this by resetting the settings for the touch screen in windows 7 i then pull out the USB i then put the USB back in and "recalibrate" it there is a stylus in the lower right of the monitor in the side so please do look it is there.

Simple question, can you just plug in a usb mouse and use it as an ordinary monitor and don`t bother with the "touching" ?

medionsupport.com/php…165

This is a link to a post in June of this year when the monitor was on sale at £299.
Also mentioned is the poor audio volume with the built-in speakers.
What`s the sound like on the one you`ve got?

ANd you can just use it as a normal screen, no worry about the touching.

The sounds quality with the built in speakers is acceptable, not great but you can at least hear what you need to hear lol. But not good for musics or movies

heovang

Thanks for that.
You can`t really knock it at £129 although probably overpriced in the first place.
I`m not too keen on the touching feature which I saw on demonstrated utube.

Aldi/Medion seem to be getting caught out on pricing recently with items not selling and then later forced reductions.
One time you had to queue up about 6am to get the item and they usually only had half a dozen.

Example of overpricing is today`s release of a Medion Akoya base unit (MD8347) at £379-99.

I quite fancy one of these, I haven't used my PC base for over 6 months since moving house. Could set it up in the spare room and still not use it lol.

I will give the Bedford store a ring shortly and no doubt I'll get a member of staff that has no idea what I'm talking about lol.

Amazing price for a 21.5" touchscreen however I assume this is run off of old stock and is store specific?

Hi I don't think Aldi do store specific price ? It was display in the glass cabinet in both of the Manchester store that I have been yesterday

tried to ring local, but no phone number lol.

After one of these, my store is a small one though so I hope they've got some in.

Generally they do if its old stock (originally sold in March) and trying to clear space. However as you saw it at two stores then there maybe there is some hope that its available elsewhere.

Edited by: "simate" 3rd Oct 2010

does anybody know if the picture quality of the screen is good? also what is the warranty like? i ike the fact its 1080p and has decent contrast ratio. i was planning on buying a normal 21.5" 1080p acer monitor for about £110 so at just £20 more for touchscreen its worth it as long as the monitor itself and picture quality is good

Well, visited 3 local stores before I found one, and it was priced @ £179.99
Bagged one anyway, as I think this is a good price still - for spec and considering 3yr warranty also.
For anyone this way, Holdenhurst rd, Bournemouth still had 1 or 2 left, according to the manager.....Poole and Wallisdown branches did not appear to have any.
I did query the price, and showed printout of OP's purchase, but was told that some stores may run their own specific promotion...yada yada......still, off to plug it in !
