22% OFF any purchase at Halfords

Found 23rd Jan 2013
A bit long winded but here is the guide how to get 22% off any purchase at Halfords.

First get yourself a British Cycling membership through TCB (£5.05) or Quidco (£5) for new sign up of £15 Bronze pack. Membership gives you 10% in-store discount including Boardman bike range. Ask your friends who might already have it.

Print discount voucher from membership benefits page.

Calculate the cost of your purchase after the discount and buy Halfords gift vouchers with 10% discount here:
select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/

Many large employers do have dedicated access code for the site but you can use CAMHal12 (thanks to carpaddict) or still try Wickes one with the code WickesHal11.
You need to register with the site first in order to apply the code. There is also £50 minimum order limit. Vouchers are delivered by RM Special delivery next working day.

Now order your item via Quidco (3%) or TCB (3.03%) and use Reserve&Collect service.

Make the journey to the store once order is available to collect and get your goods

This method will work on anything including sale items and with on-line discount codes.

Neat bit of footwork there ;-)

Or you could just go to Wiggle / Chain Reaction and get it 22% cheaper than Halfrauds anyway?

I like it, think via quidco you would get double dip of ordering online and paying in store (if you card is registered)

Best of luck getting your cars parts 22% cheaper in either of those stores jackass X)

Great deal OP thanks for posting

Outstanding work on the deal but if you're talking about getting cheap Car Parts you'll probably want to check Euro Car Parts first as they have shops all over the place (usually a bit out the way/industrial site though) & tend to hold a lot more stock and considerably undercut Halfords. They almost always have a discount voucher on aswell which can be used on reserve and collect.

WickesHal11 is not valid

Have I done something wrong?

I feel sick....I just paid £550 for a Boardman bike at the weekend at Halfords!!

Anyone advise on this - On my way home from said purchase, the pedal started hitting the Chain cog as I changed gear - I was in a rush to get to work so couldn't turn back. When I got home I checked and the back of the pedal is all scored!! Anyone advise on my rights here - Leaving it back tonight, but the guy implied it was probably my fault (Not used to high spec bikes and gears) and that they would repair the parts that are clashing (But not the paintwork damaged)

I'm not sure what you’re describing exactly but it sounds like the setup is wrong. Don’t get fobbed off with your not used to high end bikes, they don’t operate that differently (you still pedal in more or less the same way etc). My advice is take it to your local bike shop and get them to look at it, boardman bikes are good but Halfords generally aren’t very good setting them up.

....anyone else managed to get it working?

Take it back, get them to reduce this price to match this or tell them you want refund due to fault? Then re buy?

Depends what you are after, I got Carrera bike which is reduced from £400 to £270 in their sale for £189 after all the hassle (to get this price I have also used 10% discount code which was floating recently) . There is not a single bike with similar spec in CRC or Wiggle at that price, not even close...

can't be bothered doing that sorry!

The code works when ordering gift vouchers, I just re-checked, just follow correct link.

Amazes me how they are still selling overpriced car parts & stereos for cars, I mean, old cars these days have radios in them and they are not that bad? 10 years ago, it was an optional extra, so how is there still a market for these items?
Also, who really asks them and pays them to fit parts?? I love their adverts, and actually the people they are taking the mickey about are the ones that work in Halfords!! Love it!

At no point should nay moving parts of a bike hit any other parts with teh exception of brake pads and the chain shifting parts to change gear.
Tell them you want a refund as it isn't fit for purpose and is faulty within 28 days. Someone used to a Penny Farthing should be able to jump on Bradley Wiggins Tour winning bike and not hit the pedals off of anything.

Kick up a fuss, say you don't want the bike anymore, get a refund and buy it with the discount at another branch, I've got a Boardman great bike but set it up yourself or get someone competent to do it..............

Care to elaborate as to why?

Really good work op

That should go someway to cover the immediate drop in value that any bike you buy will plummet by the second you walk out the shop.

Far better to buy used and pay for a full service at a local bike shop

Not necessarily true, I've bought many brand new bikes over the years and sold them a couple of years later for more than the original purchase price.
Always take a chance buying second hand as well, and no warranty.

Probably won't use this however I'll remember the discounted gift vouchers for future use with my staff discount / trade cards

Do you work for wickes?

If not, then it's pretty obvious why it's fraud...would you steal a car, would you watch a pirate movie or illegal mp3???

I thought not

He does technically have a point.

This will obviously violate the T&Cs of the Wickes/Halfrauds promotion.

Halfords is pants. All their products are way over priced; example, current deal on Sony head units = average reduction of £100/50% off previous price, yet all available on Amazon for less. If you can buy elsewhere, do. Halfords is only good when you're desperate.

No he does not have a point. Have any of you actually went to wickes trade builder website to check t&c? Well I thought no...
Here they are: "Third party offers displayed on the Wickes Trade Builder website are displayed without liability on the part of Wickes. Each offer is subject to availability and the third party’s terms and conditions, which are available on their website."

Simple answer for you then is avoid Halfords.
For everyone else that wants to save 22% then they can follow this deal.

People that go to the extent of doing this to save 22% are likely to be people that will price check before they go to buy.

Thanks OP for letting us know of this.

maybe you should add boardman bikes to your title or off any purchase IF you purchase a BC membership since i thought i'd be getting 22% off say a box of wheel trims or something where as it wouldnt be worth me paying for the membership to get a few pounds off?! am confused!

And what about the third party's (i.e. Halfords) terms and conditions? I take it you've read them?

There will be something to say not any old joe can buy vouchers and you have to be an employee of the respective company. Otherwise it's open to abuse - like this.

Are you retarded or what? You don't need to work for Wickes to use their trade builder site which gives free advise on running building business. It is open to everyone just majority doesn't know it.
On other hand if you are worried about such things you should not be on HUKD....

Problem is most new cars are only JUST getting things like USB sockets, Auxiliary inputs, etc. Most if not all don't read SD cards. So for people who want to plug an iPod into their even four or five year old car, there's a good chance it'll still only play CD's ... or at a push CD's with MP3's on them. I believe for example Skoda still offered a tape deck in it's basic Fabia until only a few years ago ... so some bits of the motor trade are lightyears ahead with Bluetooth head units and whizzy connections ... others still just sell cars with a CD player in.

I picked this up for £329 last Xmas from Halfords, proved to be an excellent purchase with many enjoyable off-road miles clocked up.... BikeRadar seemed to rate it at twice the price.... Just make sure you NEVER pay Halfords the RRP or anything close bikeradar.com/mtb…194
