Not OLED, cold.
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. You can set the temperature you want the room to be and is very quiet (i.e. Doesn't click when temp reached or whilst heating). Comes with a remote. I would say it was good value for money. Only downside was it doesn't work with a smart plug as all settings default off once the power is off and no heating comes out until you do the settings again.

Any idea how much these cost to run??

Probably however much your electric company charge per kwh * 1.1 or 2.2 depending on the setting

And there are also plenty of other reduced heaters at Homebase too when I visited the store. They started from around 10 pounds
This is a warm deal
Can you wall mount this? or is it just free standing?

Following in from what Sparkdex said, it’ll work out somewhere in the region of £0.14 to £0.28 per hour (unit price, depending on your supplier) to run.
I've owned 3 of these over the years, keep your receipts and all that. They will almost certainly break just after warranty expires if they don't arrive broken. Expect buttons to stop functioning and loud Hugh pitch noises.

Uhmm thats because it’s a microwave
2manymilos09/02/2020 10:27

Is screen burn a problem?

Not as bad as plasma, but doesn't keep the room as warm.
Is this 4k or just HD thanks.

I don't know what that means

IKR and another poster wanted to mount it! What’s the world coming to. Millennials
That will almost double the cost of running my whole house per hour!

Ok Boomer.
Bought this a few months ago. Works well and heats the room quickly. Been using it on and off over the winter months. Since end of October electricity bill is £600 so beware!
Glass heater? Ceramic is not the most conductive of materials so how well does this really work?

I need something like this for one room in my house. Most of the time the gas heating is on but overnight the room cools faster than the rest of the house.
Between 1am and 6am I pay 10.752p per kWh so 11.83p or 23.65p depending on setting. I suspect on 1.1kW setting it may only spend a couple of hours on during most nights so about 30p per day to top up heat.
My point is that electricity costs too much for heating but in the right circumstances it may be worth it.

Not sure how to answer that? It gives off 2.2Kw of heat. That will be a mix between convected heat and radiated heat and if it is a poor conductor then most of the heat will be radiated which would mean it would probably feel hotter to the touch than the average convection heater. On the other side, you shouldn't end up with the hot air stuck near the ceiling.

Our annual bill (3 bed house, 2 adults and one kid) is £720. Are you serious?

I’m absolutely serious unfortunately! 2 bedroom average sized flat. £615.49 to be exact. And that was on top of the £50 per month I’ve been paying since June. When I phoned electricity company to ask what was going on I was told it would be the heater which makes sense as we bought it end of October which is when the charge is from.
So, will I burn my fingers if use the touch display?

Remember the old days of plasma TVs when they served as both TV and panel heaters?

Brutal! Don't miss our drafty old tenement flat. Carpets, rugs, draught excluding, thick curtains and boiler controls helped us reduce our bills.
