from what I can tell from the reviews ..... windows 8...booooooooooo
but its worth removing some useless software to increase operating speed which in fairness people who are fairly savvy with a PC might do anyway.
plus ive reserved one and was going to pick it up today, but its always nice to get some feedback. I'm aware Argos/eBay do similar refurb versions for a small amount off this price. I'm just wanting a standard family laptop that will do day to day tasks.
thanks.

Windows 8/8.1 is the best MS OS. If you are missing start menu then there are many options. One the the review- "it is window 8 and it is complicated compare with window 8 ." Obviously these people are from typewriter age.

Celeron for £229.99? No thanks. Would rather go for older tech pentium 2020M...

ha..I've never used windows 8 yet but everyone seems to hate it. I pretty much put up with what I've got when I have a budget to stick to so I reckon I can make do with it and just try fine tune it a bit.

cheers Chris. this is at the top of my budget and comparing the 2 I don't see a real difference in spec for the extra money except a fraction more clock speed.

If you are new to Win 8 then first update it to 8.1, boot directly to desktop, set desktop icons or if you want you can install any start menu app. I don't have a start menu app. Most frequently used icons are on desktop and others I am more comfortable finding from run.

This is completely different architecture. Even for everyday use U will feel big difference, and in case
You will upgrade to SSD one day, thats when SSD will be bored because of slower CPU.

I know U will not understand a word, but U can clearly see both CPUS and integrated GPU compared

pclab.pl/tem…est,59944/2

pclab.pl/tem…est,59944/3

2020M both CPU and GPU are more or less twice as fast as N2830

a quick search on hukd will reveal similar spec for about 30-50 squids less
