Imported?

correct me if i'm wrong, but Heineken don't do the imported anymore, going back a few years they used to do the 3.4% ish one and the one branded as export was considered the premium beer and was 5%
All Heineken is now 5%

I went back in 95 - those were the days!

All heineken is brewed in Holland. Or so I believe it is, the stuff I've drank says "brewed in Amsterdam". However a quick google says that it is brewed in the UK

If it is brewed in the UK, it is by far superior to all the other beers "brewed under license in the UK"!

All heineken is brewed in Holland

No it's not. Go to the greek islands and the heinekin is brewed in Greece somewhere. Used to get 500ml bottles of it.

An advantage of living in Sweden atm, all the beer is export

You'll find that most, if not all the heineken in the UK says "brewed in holland" on the front label though

It does say it comes from Netherlands on the tesco website - Checked out one of the other beers ( Brahma and Cobra) and that says UK.

So I'm going for yes its imported!

Heineken is a 5 % premium lager with a delicate hop and malt aroma. Underlying tropical and apple flavours combine with a clean palate and refreshing finish with some hop notes.

ABV 5%
Country Netherlands

Yep, Heineken was previously brewed in the uk by whitbread who used the Heineken name under licence but the actual liquid bore no resemblance to the original and the abv was 3.4. This practice stopped 20 odd years ago.
All Heineken, draught, cans, bottles alike is all 5% and brewed only in holland before being imported to the uk and it has been this way for several years.

Thanks for confirming why this is in the Travel section

Koolforkats is spot on... I install Heineken for a living. The biggest problem I have is taking the flak from the local Barflys who still believe its the old whitbread brewed 3.4% cold filtered rubbish!
Heineken in the uk if purchased legally is now only ever brewed in Holland and is 5% (like the old imported Heineken we used to get).

Anyone remember the Ray Liotta ads a few years back stating that's its only brewed in holland!... He would also come and know on your door if you left a drop!

Personally I don't think the brand helped themselves since its relaunch just before the brewer purchased scottish & newcastle as the new founts/beer taps in pubs don't give the abv as parts of their design... Would save me answering countless Whitbread questions if they did!... Ps. give their slightly weaker beer Amstel a look if you don't want that Heineken schmieneken headache in the morning!

Just started drinking this over the last year and it is a superb drink much better than any of the dross coming from the UK breweries.heat added.

Said burgers were made with beef and they werent.

I had a mate who asked for heineken export in amsterdam...

Heineken?!!!! F**k that s**t!!! Pabst Blue Ribbon!!

Pabst Blue Ribbon is for the lowest common denominator

Just had mine.. well delivered. Ordered 48 in the end and seems my Tesco didn't have any. Offered me 4x4 bottles and 4x6 330ml stubbies. Turnt it down

Simply the best beer ever! Maybe starapromen or cuzquena can be on par with it!

I prefer Grolsch to Heineken, when it comes to Dutch beers.

Bear in mind that they expire this month, may 2013...

I got some today from Durham and they had a 2014 expiry date?

Cheers OP! hic

If you like Heineken keep an eye out in sainsburys where they always have a keg of Heineken on offer for the champions league final. Tastes awesome from the keg.

Grolsch isn't a dutch beer. Was designed, made and is brewed in Britain.

That link doesn't say that though? Grolsch is dutch, but the stuff we drink is brewed in the UK like most of the muck we drink.

Yep and mine

I didn't read this properly. It's a multi-buy offer - 2 x 12 packs for £15 - as such not available in Scotland due to licensing laws.

The "deal" in Scotland is 1 x 12 pack for £8.

I just got 48 from Tesco Walsall, had to really hunt for good dates, and could only fine 2 boxes which had a 2014 date on them! The rest were end of June 2013! Luckily the 2 boxes that go out in June won't last too long!

Is it Feb 2014 already?

Time flies by so quickly since my tesco visit yesterday morning

Picked 48 bottles up today all feb 2014 dates, well pleased at 60 odd pence a bottle, much better than most largers around..
