I ordered the 23" one that was hot from dell in the last couple of days myself, but kinda wish I had got this one as it is native 1080.

this is a one day only online superspecial from Aria, with limited stock, but thought it might be of use to someone.

sorry but voted cold as 22" are only £100 = £100 for an extra two inches not worth it ( ot the monitor of course) ;0)

Dell monitors are great - I bought the 2408 a few months ago 24" cost £372. After using this monitor I think there is something wrong when I look at other monitors.

Original Poster

Are the 22" 1080p? As I think thats one of the main selling points for a monitor like this.

Cheers for the comment though, better than cold votes and no reasons as per usual!

Paid £50 less for the 23" a few days ago, maybe I should have waited.

The 23" you refer to is also full HD.

I personally don't think £60 extra for 1" more is worth it.

I've been looking for a deal on this as Dell have stopped selling it... never heard of this company - has anyone used them before?

Except now the 23" costs £194. It's a no-brainer.

But its expired, but that wasnt the one I meant, I meant the one thats been labelled as "higher than full HD" which isnt native 1080p, so will have to downscale the picture, which I see as a negative.

I have used them loads, they are based quite near me in Manchester, and I have never had a problem with any of their stuff.

As well as the 2" more, you get a higher resolution which means lots more on the screen.

I seriously hope you were joking in your post!

Aria have also been around for years - the only complaints I've ever seen are about returns (although my one experience of that was great and trouble free).

22 inch monitors run at 1650x1050 this means that a 360 hooked up via vga would only be 720p stretched to that resolution. this monitor is worth 100 quid more.

I have the fully fledged dell 2405 which i have had nearly 4 years, it has vga, dvi and component. i have a pc, 360 and wii all hooked up. the 360 runs at 1080p and the wii is on component at 480p. It cost me 700 back then. This is amazing value for money. voted hot.

How hard/easy is it to cancel a Dell order? I've been in phase 3 for ages, I might as well go with this one.

Suppose you better add the shipping cost of £15.13  into the post - makes the final total £216.32.

I tried to cancel mine today so I could order this, but it had already shipped.

They said I can send it back after I have received it, but will incur a £20+vat charge for the pleasure.

Does this come with the 3 year warranty and/or the dead pixel warranty?
Thanks!

So you were in last phase... I'm in phase 3

Not sure about phase numbers, but it still said that it was being produced on the descriptions...
best way to tell is probably give them a call, but it sounds like you have a good chance of cancelling if its not been sent out mate. Fingers crossed for you if you decide to

Shipping? That changes things... You can get this monitor for around £220 from most places so I guess it's not such a hot deal now. Shame.

dell have offered a better version of the 23'' and its topped up with great features. check it out.

The main selling point of this monitor that everyone is missing is that it has a HDMI port meaning you can hook up a games console or blu ray player and run it at full HD quality (1080p). I have one and run my xbox 360 through it and it is pretty stunning. The smaller cheaper models do not offer this.

This is exactly why I thought this would be seen as a good deal! Cheers

Even though DVI provides just as good image quality, only difference is no audio via dvi. The 23" monitor has a higher resolution, just because the native res for this screen is 1080p doesnt mean its better as the 23" monitor will provide a higher quality in games(if your gpu can handle it). I dont know what panel this uses, if its not a TN panel then this is great for films but if not then id say its OK and even against the 23", TN are good cheap panels but they tend to have backlight bleed so mainly used for games or work not films.

This is teh deal that I have originally ordered (so cheers for that!) but wish I had seen this first, as I would rather have a NATIVE 1080p display, as the picture quality will be worse due to the picture having to be downscaled. I am mainly going to be using it for PS3 and Xbox360, but also PC going throught it.

I know what you mean by the potential quality loss from film playback but it would be better future proofed when the new line of films come out because films are recorded at very high resolutions(2000+) so it will handle them better. Its not a bad deal either way which is why i voted how :).
