I have a thought, crazy one if I may will this not work with just a ps3/xbox elite. As the output/input is a HDMI cable?

Good price.

Not sure what the consensus of opinion is with ordering from SaverStore (SavaStore).

Some people here have had bad dealings in the past.

Yep, should work without a problem (as long as the console has HDMI, otherwise you have to use the VGA adaptor).

Cheers. Always a pleasure.

So in theory getting a HDMI outputing Freeview box or sky would be exactly the same again.

You mean, could the signal from a freeview box with HDMI output feed into this monitor?

I don't see why not from the information we have to hand.

Sound advice

thing is, who needs a 24" monitor? ive just received my 23" version from Dell today and i think i greatly underestimated the size of it. Still to get it home and hook it up but it looks a biggie

I have the Iiyama 26" version which is about £280, so this is a good price for the 24" version. It has really good resolution, but, mine has 3 dead pixels that are tiny and barely visible as it's 3 out of 2.3 million pixels. But, overall it's probably the best thing I have bought in a long time.

I have one of these at work and at home.... absolutely brilliant monitors and an incredible price.

If you have dead pixels, why not send it back? it's faulty isn't it?

More detailed spec on Misco Website says it has built in speakers.

yep, built in speakers and headphone out on the side (audio in on back panel)

(this post is based on the b2403ws as i got confused about model number - many apologies)

Iiyama are exceptional, in regards to customer service. Guarantee is straight with them. I've had many of their monitors over the years - the two times I have had problems they have sent a replacement out immediately, the delivery guy picking up the faulty unit. This is without any kind of checking the faulty product and the one time was only a month ebfore the end of the warranty.

I had been looking at this on Play for £189.99

]http//ww…tml

But as it wouldnt be primarily used as a monitor, i was curious about the resolution...while 1900 * 1080 may seem fine for 1080p are most monitors not 1900*1200..will this cause any freeview/ps3 etc issues

Looks like a great spot - but can you connect a dvd/br player direct via HDMI?

It's interesting that the other 1080 screen blurb at iiyama direct mentions HDMI connection for dvd players but the blurb on this one doesn't - perhaps just an oversight. It's not something I've tried so does anyone know if you can just connect a blu ray palyer for film watching & how do you think it would compare to a small 1080 TV in a dark room (don't know if the lcd panel tech is the same for monitors vs TVs?).

Thanks.

Good price, very tempted

awesome thanks OP

hdmi input and headphone jack out could make for a very cheap 1080 bedroom TV, I'm tempted to have a go!

3 year on site warranty too, itchy order finger!

Pity it's not got a built in USB hub - I'm trying to reduce some of the clutter on my desk. Still looks like a cracking monitor though.

As an aside, how good are the speakers? My current monitor has built in speakers and you can barely hear them, even when turned up to 100%.

My thoughts exactly. Anyone know any reason why not?

I have a techy question...... why are these so much cheaper than 19" / 22" sold at Currys / Comet. Do they not produce as good quality picture or are there limitations on what you can use it for?? I can see there's no scart connection but still, its a big jump in price for what (looks to me) like a 1080 screen?

I've been looking to get one when a good price comes up to hook up to my PC and play PS3 as the 40" I got is power hungry! I wont be using it to watch TV.

Several years back I knew a guy who contacted them a few months after the end of the warranty period, fully expecting to have to pay for it to be repaired. Not only did they send him a replacement free of charge, but the replacement was a newer model with a higher spec.

That's why I always buy iiyama monitors

Hot deal!

2 x 3w speakers it says

so it has two 3 watt speakers.

Laptop sort of quality I imagine

looking round there are quite a selection of freeview boxes with HDMI!!!!! also it would be nice to connect the new Western Digital Media player one it arrives!!!!!!!

Sorry for sounding dumb, but will i be able to connect a Nintendo Wii to this monitor?
thanks!

Doubtless a silly question. but how would this work just as a bog standard computer monitor for general use (WP, internet and the like) ? Will the resolution, aspect ratio etc. all be suitable ?

Are there any product reviews for this product?
Can't seem to find any

Looks like a decent price for a decent branded monitor but not for me since I'm looking for something with 1900X1200 resolution (although this will be good for native 1080p )

PS. Speakers on monitors are usually going to be ****, they aren't really made to be a permanent sound solution (decent extra speakers aren't that much these days although a recomendeded extra)

just had a wee nosey and can get a 3.5mm headphone jack 2.1 audio setup with about 30watts output for under £30.

Just spoke with iiyama tech support and they say you can connect and dvd/blu ray player, digital freeview box, games console or in fact any device with an HDMI and it will work the same as a 1920 x 1080 TV. Only thing you can't do is tune it in so if you wanted TV channes you would need an external tuner (digi box).

Excellent deal then, and great as that spare room TV :-D:-D

Yup.. sure u can!!

This is a cracking price... with HDMi input u can connect nearly everything, to this monitor. Audio wise, get a cable to hook up to your hi fi or just look at the 2.1 and 5.1 speaker systems!!

Cheerio

Well that's baloney - they won't work with a Wii (which has composite video output, or RGB Scart or YUV phono if you buy adaptors).

And that answers your question, Aamir.

Believe it or not, FF99, they will work as computer monitors though!
