Yes. They last longer imo.
Isn't this the usual price ?
People should be using low discharge rechargeable batteries - better than old tech batteries .
Not with a fast charger.
Could do worse and use zinc type rubbish.

Any advice on which batteries and charger I should look to be buying?
Low self discharge - LSD - or pre-charged used to describe batteries that keep their charge over many months .
Eneloop, ikea ladda , amazon basics.and many others - only 1900-2100mah but they will be good
to go months later. Higher power batteries eg 2900mah will be nearly flat in a week.
A smart charger shouldn't cook the batteries - slower is better for the batteries
Avoid fast chargers.
