Thanks - I've updated the title and details.

Is this worth £100 more than the Miix 3 10?

good price with keyboard included.

Personally id say no, i have just bought a miix 3 and think its great.

I'm torn between the Miix and this... This has double the battery life however and a slightly faster processor. I also like the fact it can tilt etc and be typed directly onto the screen, when laid flat, at an angle.

The £100 is a fair crack, if it could come down just a little more I would be VERY happy!

The Miix looks like a great piece of kit, have been checking Youtube for reviews on this and the Miix. Driving me bonkers.

I know the feeling!

I feel your pain, Skymonkey. I'm all over the place at the moment; I'm looking at this, the Miix 3 and even the Surface 3. I was also tempted by the Lenovo laptop that was posted yesterday, one of Amazon's lightning deals. And now all of these other laptop deals are popping up, too. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

I bought the miix from isme (i know) but got £30 off as new customer code (worked fine) and then cashback, £110 in the end. Delivered the next day.

I had the mix 3 but returned it as it was overheating. I personaly didn't like the 2 fixed positions. I prefer it when i can tilt as needed.

Personally, I'd hang around for the revised Asus T100 with the Atom X5 processor. Alternatively, I can highly recommend the old Asus T100 (which you can pick up second hand for around £100 or so).

I'm not sure there is much need for a 1080p screen on a 10" Windows device (at least until they sort out DPI scaling). Perhaps I've missed something that makes these Miix/Yoga deals better than an Asus T100?

I saw that deal too! I think the Yoga is the tablet for me, whilst more expensive I'll just wait for the price to drop again. If I was visiting the states I'd buy without hesitation the 13" version...

I contemplated the Surface and rumour is it will drop in price as the surface pro 4 is coming out a few weeks after windows 10 launch.

Im to on I've again by windows and this tablet will replace my Macbook 2008 which only lasts 2 hours and isn't portable.

Not at all interested in an iPad, way overpriced.

If you see anything please let me know.

Where did you get the code from?

I had the 8 inch version, nice bit of kit, but sent it back and got the miix 3 offer

Bendown

google or here. cant remember

I bought the 8 inch version of this, but I'm not that happy with it. I mostly dislike the effect that the large cylindrical battery has on the weight distribution. It makes it a bit awkward to hold. I wouldn't recommend it.

I hate these damned deals! I was deliberating over the Miix 3, then the Surface 3 deals came along. I'm now thinking about the Surface Pro 3, but don't want to take the plunge just in case Microsoft release the Surface 4's. I want to use it for software development, so I'm thinking that the Surface Pro is the way to go.

I bought one of these on release last October, and I love it. I do a lot of travelling, so the battery life is key for me. Forget 15 hours, you'll get 8 out of it though, if you're watching videos on the train/plane. I have a laptop for productivity purposes, so don't know how this would compare. I'd definitely advise a Bluetooth mouse though, as the touchpad's a tad tetchy to say the least.

The keyboard/case is decent enough. It protects the screen nicely. I bought the official orange and grey sleeve for mine, and it's a tidy package that never fails to draw admiring and jealous glances on the train.

The on screen keyboard needs a bit of work compared to the iPad keyboard, in particular auto capitalisation and auto grammar like adding the apostrophe in the word don't simply never happens. That might just be me not configuring it correctly though.

Right, who said you don't need a 1080p screen on a 10 inch? You flippin well do matey boy, and it looks astonishing. YIFI rips look delightful on it, and the sound through the speakers isn't bad at all, but through my headphones it's awesome. They're not even very good headphones either.

Now the bad points, it's a bit creaky on the back, get a little warm at times, not mega warm though, it's difficult to balance on your stomach/thigh when lying down watching Auf Weidersehn Pet in the hotel ;-)

Any questions, just let me know...

It isn't a 2-1 but an 8inch tablet, but a stand and keyboard can be had for about £20 I got the one from Expansys for £239, it has double the memory at 4gb and 128gb hard disk space and a built in LTE modem, has pretty much replaced my i7 laptop. The only problem with them is that the battery life can be a bit on the short side for outdoor usage, but in the office and home and even out and about a wall socket isn't too far for refuelling.

These are good but at 2gb, you're going to hit the memory limit for full windows productivity apps.

Not true about 'hitting the memory limit'.

Just don't use Google Chrome and do use Avast. Then you'll be sitting at around 800mb of RAM usage with no apps running....and, as an example right now; about 1.5GB RAM usage with iTunes, 8 IE tabs, Movie Maker and Word open (with OneDrive syncing and BBC iPlayer downloading). That's on an Asus T100.

I own 8" and 10" both with 4gb RAM and absolutely love them when I travel.

10" has better options with keyboards cases and even original Lenovo keyboard is really nice but costs 100 odd quid.

8" has an issue with clicking tiny close buttons if you have large fingertips(I'm not fat lol) ,but 10" comes with pen

Solution for your 8" tablet issue;

was it 2gb ram with older cpu 3775?

RUGAAL

was it 2gb ram with older cpu 3775?

Yes does that make it any less of a bargain at under 150.

8-inch full HD (1920 x 1200) 10-point multitouch IPS display
Intel Atom Processor Z3745
2GB LPDDR3 memory
2x front large-chamber speakers, Dolby Audio, Wolfson Master Hi-Fi Codec
WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, MiMo, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.0
Windows 8.1
426 g (0.94 lbs)
Micro USB, 3.5 mm audio jack

From my view, 220 quid is better option for device that costs 450+ elsewhere vs 150 for device that costs 270 elsewhere.

Well it's up to availability and personal budget...

Is this as good as your average laptop in terms of productivity features?

How does this fare with an eMMC? If it had an SSD I'd buy it but don't have any experience with an eMMC so don't know how well they perform.

I have had the Miix 3 for several months now and cant fault it. I have not tried this but other then a slightly faster processor cant see what this has to offer over the Miix 3

I have the Linx 10 and it's a great bit of kit however I wish I could replace it with this for the fhd screen and better battery life. This looks a good deal at the right price as the rrp is way overpriced when compared to the Linx/Miix.

Just signed up to Very and almost bought the Miix for £122 using the credit account and voucher... Still can't bring myself to buy. I really want this, but it still needs to drop in price I think.

For what you're getting for the price I don't think you're not going to get any better, and I can't see it dropping in price either.

I know how you feel though; I'm in the same boat.

I was referring to the Yoga 2 in this deal rather than the Miix. After all, Bespoke will only better the headline price - not the £30 discounted new customer price....
So this John Lewis price would be ideal for using with the Bespoke service. 10-15% off the headline price + 14% cashback + £2 for doing the Beat my Price thing...
Good for anyone that wants this Yoga 2.

Ah, I see. The Yoga 2 is £329 at John Lewis, though. After 15% off and 14% off you're looking at about £240; not that much cheaper than what Lenovo are selling it for.
