reduced from £89 so seemed a good deal
wifi is given at 2gb per month, which suits as i'm buying it for my low using mum and currently pay £15 per month with vodafone as she hasn't got a landline
i bought and cancelled the 3 deal listed as i would then have to buy a 3 mifi unit so this is better all combined
not sure when it ends
might suit other low users

I would have used it for UK holidays, using >10GB a time but if you just need a bit of light browsing without a phone line, it's not so bad.
I might go for the Three deal if it drops on Black Friday as I already have a (better) MiFi device.
The Osprey isn't the best - the signal is weaker than my phone and my Huawei MiFi and it switches itself off after 15-30 minutes, whether it's plugged in or not and whether it's in use or not.
Fingers crossed..
Also these devices are easy to unlock (I have done this and use with a three SIM while on hols) although I find the signal is a bit weak.
Can anyone recommend a better MiFi to buy?
still not sure myself-as it means she could use more if she wanted, as and when. it might actually encourage my mum to use regularly rather than here and there as she does now.
See below
Here's what I have:
A Huawei E5577S-321 4G LTE 150mbps Mobile Wifi Device (£90).
An All-you-can-eat Data 12 month Advanced Plan from Three (£30PCM / £35PCM if Monthly rolling).
This is as good as having a Unlimited Broadband (which goes upto 24Mbps), You can stream 4K content, download movies, songs, games, etc. Do whatever you want to; The best thing is, you can carry it anywhere you go in the UK (provided that there is decent 4G Coverage). This is ideal broadband replacement package.

The dongle on battery stays up 8-ish hours on full charge. Just plug it in to the power socket and leave it in the corner of your house.
This setup is frowned upon by Three, and they will tell you this is bad, and warn you sternly not to do this when get the contract/use it for MiFI and will refuse to sell you contract if you let them know that you're trying to use it as a MiFi. You shouldn't listen to them, They just want to sell you Data SIMs which I personally think is a rip off; Just let them know that the contract is for secondary phone, and you'll be good to go.
This is the 2ca device I think so it's 300 not 150 in practice because of the 2 radios in the device you get 60mbps not 30. However I have the 1 and it's much better to have an always on device rather than have to press the button to wake it if you have nothing connected. Still hot though as you get 2gb month allowance to go with the device but most areas arnt 2ca enabled yet so check your coverage on the maps you looking for a cerise colour and 4g+ only in posh parts of cities ATM. An osprey 1 is 25 off eBay if you want to go that way

To be honest I was on an unlimited deal with quidco cashback and although the cashback took 6 months and is a bit dodgy it was the best I had. I had effective one plan as the phone I had it in was not counting down the tethering. I am in a better place now with the doubled 64gb EE 32gb now 30gb deal that's going to be back on January 8th. I have to be careful on the allowance but EE value their customers not like three who would try and rip you off at the first opertunity. I've still not seen a method to get me to 100gb on 15 GBP with three I keep ringing them up at my rolling end to see if they can beat my 13gbp/64gb I have now but they don't want too even though they have hundreds of customers grandfathered on 15 unlimited it's not a fair company at all. Yes they don't like phone customers using their phones as a home broadband solution as those ones use a lot more data.
Indeed, but you're not leaving the store with one unless you take a rolling one month contract.
Good device though, I've been using one on a daily basis since July. It's surprisingly good for a bit of Rocket League and doesn't use much data (ping 40ms).
i'll look into something like this i think thanks for the advice
