Aldi quality tools are usually very good.

They were really good quality drills at Aldi a few years back,But i bought two like the ones above 2 years ago, And the batterys were terrible I wouldn't buy another.

I used to get tools from Aldi because of the warranty and value for money, having a fight at the moment trying to claim for a hammer drill that lasted less than 6 months, it's put me off buying from there again, prefer Lidl stuff now.

Wont they refund at all?
How are they saying that they can put your problem right?
Spoke to them on the phone & they said to email the details, etc & they'd sort it within 5 working days, 3 weeks later, quite a few emails & a phone call later and still nothing. Was tempted just to leave it, the drill was only £15 but they've annoyed me now so I wont let it lie! lol

I agree with you, dont let them mess you around
After all a 3 year warranty is just that..3 years
These 3 year warrantys both at Aldi and Lidl are a bit useless really you have to post the item off somewhere at your own cost,And then they decide if its ware and tare or a fault,But under a year its the shop that should sort it.I took a kitchen under light back to Lidl a few weeks back that had packed in after a couple of months,The manager refused to give me a refund saying after 30 days they couldn't take it back at the shop.He was clueless i came home rang Lidl head office they then rang him and told to refund immediately.
Cheers for that Den, will take it back to the shop later this week.

Aldi tools are normally good quality, it's a shame this one misses the mark by having a normal chuck. If they'd stuck an SDS+ on there (which is what most people will want on this kind of drill), then it would have been a winner.
I had one of these the last time they were out - lasted 6 months of hard use and self destroyed it self and filled the loft with stinking electrical smoke! Couldn't find revisit and couldn't get a repair even at my expense - my advice don't buy one save up the extra and buy a dewart 18v for £120 from screwfix.
