Hi guys,

Quidco currently have a code on their site for £40 off £100 spend at Gondola - GEN40.

If you use this, then add 4 cases of the £3.99 a bottle wines (all marked as half price anyway) then one £4.99 bottle of wine, the total comes to £106.75 including delivery - then with the code £66.75.

OK - the headline prices of £7.99 and £9.99 a bottle are probably a bit much, but £3.99 and £4.99 a bottle seems quite cheap, and then effectively down to £2.57 a bottle!! Cant be robbed, even if it is cheap stuff!!

Done this with Gondola a couple of times - the delivery takes a little while, but gets there in the end - got a free extra bottle of wine on my first order too!

Happy drinking!

*EDIT* Sorry, miscalculated, its actualyl £2.67 a bottle.

Any ideas how long delivery takes?

Well first time I ordered it was very quick - next day if I recall correctly.

I think that the demand they had with their £50 off £100 spend was such that they suffered delays - took a fortnight for me.

As standard.....can cold voters let me know why please?

Dont think its already posted - but search on this site is pretty poor as we all know!!

No colders (yet)
Very good deal
Have been trying to convince Mrs W to go for this over the last few days

Original Poster

Mrs Shed got them as a "Gift" from me (basically to keep her in a quiet stupour)

Actually, for the price of it, found the wine to be very palatable must say....I'm not usually much of a wine drinker, but had a couple of these!!

Dont convince her, just buy

And didnt think there was any cold voters - just my standard tag line, mainly as it may have been posted b4

In my experience, the key is only to allow her to drink enough to send her quiet or tired.

Any more, and she becomes very annoying!!!!

:-D

Mrs W prefers me in a drunken stooper - she can get away with watching "reality TV" without me moaning too much at her

lol forcing alcohol down your throat and then leaves you alone to go off to watch telly she sounds like a good catch to me

tempting, but concerned it'll taste like crud.

well i can assure you it is some of the tastiest wine that i have ever tasted.
and the red isla negra is very kind on the head aswell as the palate :-D

That is a lot of wine to deal with if its rubbish.......

And for £2 odd a bottle.......... You will be a very busy vineagar sales rep selling to all the local chippy's :-D

However if its ok (coz it never will be brilliant......) then its a reasonable deal

out of stock now for the £3.99 wine

No its not..... Isla Negra Reserve Merlot Rose and Frontera Sauvignon Blanc are both still in stock.

so cheapest price is now £3.07 a bottle not that good now saying most supermarkets have this wine on the 3 for £10.00 (an sometimes a much better wine) ok works out a few pence more but no need to spend £70 in one go

Or....not.

Why is everyone treating "wine" like it is such a mystery? Each bottle has a label that tells you where and when it was made, what grapes where used, who the winemaker was, etc etc. It's not just a collection of random bottles of red "vinegar" and white "vinegar". You could even Google it and find out about it. After all you would Google a tv, dvd, laptop, etc if you didn't know whether it was any good or not.

Exactly.

And at the end of the day, this isnt a deal for £20 bottles (although the code and quidco would make buying a few of these more expensive bottles of plonk very cheap indeed as well!).

Its for basic drinking wine, which I dare say 80-90% of the populace drink. I personally would never spend more than a fiver on a bottle - OK, I'm sure I'm missing out on some phenomenal flavours, but my personal preference is cheap, drinkable wine!

I've been very quiet and/or tired since my delivery on Monday! Hic!

The Australian chardonnay is very drinkable and for this price I think it's an excellent deal.

My liver may think otherwise though :whistling:

Cheers OP, all stocked up for HIDs 40th birthday party.

More than welcome

I've missed other Gondola offers so was very glad to catch this one. As the site makes clear, they "partner" with some of the biggest "brands" in the business so these are (almost) all wines that are available in absolutely huge quantities so therefore the type of wines that are regularly reduced in supermarkets.
I went for Pelorus, which is the sparkling wine from the famous NZ winery Cloudy Bay. Cloudy Bay was the first "cult" New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and had a big part in turning the whole world on to new world sauvignons (forgive me if I am now being very boring).
Cloudy Bay is now owned by Veuve Cliquot (champagne) and although I haven't drunk Pelorus for a few years and it may now be over-produced I think it is every bit as good as £25 champagne, if not more fun. With this offer you can get 6 bottles (plus one random £5.99 one to get to £100 pre-code) for £66 - or £60 after quidco. I am very pleased.

Not any more plenty of other good deals tho.

EDIT: Oh, I lied, and as perhaps noted, the website search is complete bobbins.

I'm still seeing both in stock?

ohhh i only need 2 bottles and i am gone. thanks for this!

I used the £50 off voucher end of march, got an email saying that due to high demand there would be a delay! so i waited, not bothered as i wanted them to allow me to use the voucher, thought i wont push it....

... begining of may, 1 email to them to say i still have not recieved my 18 bottles.

Very fast response saying sorry, order must have been missed.... we';ll get it out today and send you 2 rideal (something like that) glasses! worth £20 each (quick google check - seems genuine) lol

Emailed back saying thanks

next day 3/4 boxes turns up, citylink claim they dropped one! (not my luck this order) another email to gondola, Another fast reply. my replacement six bottles are on there way.

I got 18 bottles of nice wine, 2 glasses worth about £20 each and £4.08 cashback from topcashback and cost me £56.99, no where can i get wine that cheap (well decent stuff!)

So although a mistake happend i can happily recommend this company and their CS

Cheers OP. What the hell, it's friday AM so ordered 24 for £76 which is now as cheap as it gets without ordering multiple of the one x 3.99 and 1 x 4.49 deals.

Thanks just bought 4 cases (with 6 bottles in each case).

cost about £76 once the voucher came off, so if i get my 10% quidco then it'll be about £70 for 24 bottles of wine. which is about £2.88 per bottle.

not earth shattering but i hate the last minute dash to teh off license and this is as much about saving time and hassle as it is about saving money for me anyway.

thanks for posting.

Nice!

Ordered:
Isla Negra Reserve Frontera Sauvignon Blanc - Half Case 6 x1
Merlot Rose - Half Case 6 x1
Jacob's Creek Chardonnay - 750ml bottle x 3
Lindemans Winemaker's Release Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon - 750ml bottle x1
Lindemans Winemaker's Release Chardonnay - Half Case 6 x1

Around £2.80 a bottle. Nice! : )

Great deal...bought four half cases of Lindemans Winemaker's Release, which will be a fiver in the supermarkets at the best of times...£ 73.75 delivered, hopefully £7.37 cashback = 2.76/bottle...surely you can't go wrong!?

I think my gift to the world today is to get everyone drunk :-D

By the way guys - easiest way I found (if you arent bothered about getting specific wines) is simply click "wines" - you will then get them all in price order.

The "offers" link actually starts with more expensive wines....

It's a great opportunity to get some good wines at a price you would never be able to find them. So for instance, getting Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc @ £10 a bottle is a great deal you would never find in the shops.

Last time I used the voucher code, the Quidco discount was disallowed.

Nice, H&R. I kept missing out on these deals, this time I got in there quick.

Thanks OP

very happy with my order for 6 bottles of cloudy bay and an odd bottle - usually 20 quid a pop but with quidco and discount works out about 10 quid a bottle very happy indeed :O)

Quidco tracked at 10% (exc postage)...I'll be annoyed if it isn't approved, given that the code is right there on the quidco site...

Good deal Mr S.

Like you said, the last time we had a deal on here - Gondola went into meltdown and couldn't cope.

I wasn't that bothered as they sent it anyway a couple of weeks later with a nice freebie enclosed that was worth about 8 quid.

Like to say I ordered cheapies the last time and they were pretty decent wines.

Thanks OP, have some heat! Just ordered 21 bottles of my favourite Cassillo Savignon Blanc which usually retails for between £4.99 & £7.99. Got it for £3 a bottle

Thanks - just ordered 21 bottles of Jacobs Creek. Rare that this is on offer at £3 a bottle . . so deffo taken advantage here
