25 free nectar point when you use Sainsburys for Myhermes Drop off

LocalFound 20th Oct 2015
Just visited my local sainsbury's for a parcel drop off for myhermes, which they only recently have launched and not much publicised for some reason.

As I wasnt spending anything - and only just dropping off the parcel, I did not hand my nectar card but to my surprise advisor asked me for the nectar as apparently each parcel drop off earns you 25 bonus point.

I tried finding on internet everywhere, cant find any news on it either on nectarcard website or on myhermes, so thought I will share here. Apologies if this has been duplicated.

So coming up to christmas if you are happen to use myhermes and dropping off at sainsbury's it might be worth handling the nectarcard out.

I use MyHermes alot so will ask my local Sainsburys although i didn't know they did a drop off service, thanks for the heads up I usually use "One Stop" but will use Sainsburys if they do Nectar even though they are a bit further. I use my Nectar on Ebay so they all count. Thanks again.
Do not use Hermes! Just ordered some staff from Debenhams and they delivered it to someone else while our postcode is unique, just for our building and we live at number 10 and they delivered at number 34!!!! I needed to go and collect it as a lady called me who took it. Thanks God there was a phone number on the label
Rubbish company can't believe they keep going, it's often a deal breaker for me, if I'm interested in buying something and they say they use MyHermes I walk away.

They keep going because not all the drivers are crap, same as everywhere, some have rubbish drivers some have good.
I've not had a problem with Hermes yet. I've sent over 100 parcels with them over the last 4 months. I've had two parcels sent via royal mail that have gone missing . It all depends on the individual actually delivering the item. There are useless idiots working for everyone.

I don't have any problems with them. Been using it for 9 months now.
Brilliant, wonder if it's 25 points per day or possible to drop off parcels individually to rack up the points. Not had any problems with Myhermes either.
The same here no problems with Hermes

Nope. I only sent stuff with RM 2nd class signed for. RM lost it . Which means a ball aching refund claim process where they try everything possible to pay out what the item cost you, only if you have a receipt, and not what it's worth. As i re-sell 2nd hand goods bought at auction/car boots etc for very small amounts on ebay , this is usually a problem.

Did they lose it though,a lot of times the item has been delivered and the tracking still says it's in the system but most likely the person has the item, just the tracking doesn't reflect this,so it's an easy scam for a dodgy Ebayer.
Thanks OP. I have always used Hermes. So this should be a good offer.
You'd need to pay me a lot more than 25 nectar points to use Hermes again. Last thing I had delivered by them was smashed into about a million pieces. Ordered a replacement - from a totally different source (while I waited for India to sort out the compensation for their first fail). They also used Hermes (total co-incidence). Arrived home from work to find a (large) parcel from Hermes, with a big sticker on it saying "DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED" dumped outside my front door. In plain view. Unattended. Anything of any value, DPD or don't bother as far as I'm concerned.

I personally prefer ordering my staff from Amazon. The returns process is great if they arrive and turn out to be lazy gits.
That's a great offer but My Hermes delivery is really hit and miss. Even if you mark an item as Fragile it is still likely to be delivered with a dirty footprint on it. If My Hermes had a facilty on their web site where customers could enter a review againt a postcode area then maybe the service would improve and we would be able to see the service that we would be likely to get!

I like the reviews idea in postcode areas.

I had a delivery yesterday from UPS,one side of the box is all battered & squashed in,luckily it only had clothes in it,but these things happen a lot with couriers.
Why is this hot? 25 Nectar points is nothing

I also try to avoid using My Hermes if possible
Good to know. Iv used them n so far they have been reliable
Whilst My Hermes is not without fault, I do think people need to package items a bit better. If you are sending something breakable then pack it with the idea it will most likely be thrown both onto and off a van multiple times ..possibly dropped and almost always manhandled as they try to get as many parcels thru their system as possible.

I tend to find people pay £2 for delivery and then package it in a flimsy box and put "fragile' on it...like the warehouse/driver staff will even take notice - many won't even speak English.

I've sent about 100 parcels through My Hermes and only had issues twice. On both occasions I was able to claim.
never had a problem with hermes and with sainsburys up the road why not, heat.

Must be a security issue as they wouldn't allow any "staff" to be delivered to 10 Downing Street
12.5p?
Always found their service good, send small parcels (5k) to my son at uni never had a problem.
I haven't had any problems with Hermes except they charge £5 if you send something a few grammes overweight. Sometimes they seem slow but can't compare with Royal Mail as they are not tracked anyway in economy services.

If dropped off at a Parcelshop & are sent the same day which mine are I can almost guarantee they will be there within two days, unless it's some obscure address

this rule about paying you only your bought for cost isnt right or fair

its maybe OK for items you can get more of easily at the same buy in price but isnt fair for one off items that cannot be sourced again

since they are being such a bunch of **** best thing to do is play them at their own game & say you sent something a lot more expensive that you still have a receipt for - dont mention ebay at all - just say it was sent to a friend as a gift

IIRC some guy took royal mail to court about this & won but RM didnt change their rules as they know virtually nobody can be bothered to take them to court again

IIRC hermes drivers are self emplyed & get paid under 50p per parcel & dont get extra for return trips - the 50p includes their costs such as petrol & vehicle maintenance

thats why they will do anything they can with the parcel that avoids a repeat visit eg put it in a rubbish bin, leave it in an insecure place, lob it over a fence etc ...

I often try to warn my ebay buyers about this so they know what to expect

They invoice you but still deliver the parcel, just don't pay it, I've got away with it over 10 times now. Compensation for all the stuff of mine that's been lost/stolen over the years I've used them.

Good idea! Fight it with fraud!!!
various reasons to choose myhermes.

under 1 kg parcel for £2.60 tracked and componsation for upto £25.

like me if you sell small bits on ebay, paying hefty charges for tracked and compensated delivery, on top of ebay and paypla fees, you will hardly get anything.

So far I have sent about 20 items, none gone missing, all on ebay with Quick Delivery review, like many said there will always be someone in any courier company that dont give a damn!!

so this is a deal for people who wishes to use myhermes and wants to benefit for extra nectar points - specially if you are sending many packages anyway.

Last time I checked not paying an invoice was not deemed as fraud

You said you have got away with it over 10 times, which reads as though you're deliberately not paying the correct charge for the weight band.
I don't have time to weigh every single parcel, they've said its been .1 or .2 over but for all I know they're making it up. They're a shoddy company but unfortunately they're the cheapest so I use them to keep costs down. There's no fraud involved as its a civil matter anyway, please check your facts before you bandy silly legal phrases about.
