Found 29th Nov 2012
Tesco have 25% off all pet food this week, however any food that was already on offer, its deducting the 25% from the original price, so giving a double discount.
felix £3.65 each or 2 for £6,
- 25% of £7.30 = £5.47 then minus the 2 for £6 -£1.30 total £4.17 Total savings £3.13
So that's 12 tins of Felix for £4.17
Even if you don't have a pet its good for pie filling.

When does this deal run out? I don't have a pet of my own but my neighbour's cat "lodges" with me! I'm forever buying the little **** food and I just can't get rid of him!!

If you feed him, cause he will want to stay at yours....
The 25% deal ends on the 2nd December at close of business.

I know, but I just couldn't turn him away. His owner is never really around (he's a bit of a waster) and the poor animal would probably just run wild if I didn't feed him.

Thanks. It'll be done automatically at the tills? Sorry if that seems a stupid question ....
yes its all done at the tills, it works best on food that was already on offer.

Ah sure he's a great little cat anyway - he's no bother at all! I usually buy him the Tesco "Claude" dried cat food and he eats anything he gets, but with this offer, I'll treat him to some nice canned food!!

Cats don't like bread and butter.
Mine does. He absolutely loves raw potatoes too, and will steal them and run off with them.

Maybe not, but I'm told they know where it lies!
I consulted my cat on this offer and he said that tins are for pussies, and he'd rather have a good curry anyday.

Don't stop there, why not make her oeufs en cocotte too?
When did it start because i bought a pack of kitekat on tuesday and i did not see any special offer.
The Maths don't really work out on this.....
25% from the 2 for £6 should be £1.50, not £1.30...

Plus it's a bit wrong to say 'Total savings = £3.13' as you really aren't saving that - if you were then the total price would be £2.87 surely as your spend would be £6 and NOT £7.30 (as you are really just paying for the 2 for £6).
On your bill the ACTUAL total saving is £1.83 and NOT £3.13

I'm not saying the deal is bad as you are saving a little extra, just the maths is wrong.
Shouldn't the total cost be £3.97 if taken as 25% from both?
Avon7 the maths do work I don't think you read it properly.
14 x dog food 2 for £6 - total cost would have been 14 x £3.48 = £48.72

total saving £18.90 plus £5 of £40 spend = £23.90 saved

I bought a few other bits a well.

Thanks

Great deal thanks, even beats the 2 for £5 offers they used to do. Great for a fussy cat like mine :-)
Thanks OP got 2 packs of dog food
£3.48 each normally on offer for 2 for £ 6.00
And then got an extra £1.74 off
Shame i don't like cat food

Heat added though
can't see anywhere that states there's a 25% off pet food this week?
My bad, found it stated. Off to tesco's to stock up on offer and usual cat stuff

Dop not discriminate. The cat has as much squatters rights as you.
It's defo there - 'Save 25% off all Pet food and accessories this week. Applies to deliveries on or before Sunday 2nd December.' Not highlighted in a yellow box, but stated underneath each individual item in 'normal' print.

The maths is NOT wrong, you are missing the point.

If buying a 2 for £x, it gives you 25% off total cost of 2 packs, but also whatever discount originally applied on the 2 for£x deal.

So in OPs example, the reductions were 25% of £7.30= £1.83 (they round up) PLUS the difference between £7.30 and £6= £1.30.

Add the two discounts together and low and behold it adds up to £3.13 as the OP states. Hence making the 2 packs £7.30 - £3.13 = £4.17. Had the 25% only come off after the 2 for £6 it would have come to £4.50. Not a massive difference but every little helps! (_;)
