The expression "fake news" is being used wrongly. Fake news is just as it says. Information which is not correct. In this case its true. Sainsburys are having a sale of 25% off their Christmas decorations. You may feel they were originally overpriced. No need however to go all Trump over them.
Thank you for this as i want to get a reindeer that I have seen in store I will wait till 14th

The decors will definitely come down in price when the festive is getting nearer. Some don't mind paying while others would wait for a promotion. There are many reasons why people do it. It is not overcharged and it also doesn't mean it is a fake news from Sainsbury's.

Great deal love a discount
Decent deal, but I really dislike all these deals being posted weeks in advance of start date, and there seems to be getting more and more of them on this site.

However its a warning to others. If you are looking for decorations and you can wait then they will be cheaper on the 14th and you can double up on them.

Yes, but either I've forgotten about it by then or other store have similar or better offers also .
Clearly it suits some and I'm happy to be in the minority, but for me when I see deal i want to buy i, not wait weeks

I stand by calling it fake news. It's making up a higher price so that the store can claim a discount. The discount may be factually accurate and comply with trading standards guidance but it's misleading - how many of us buy Christmas decorations before mid-November?

I am undecicded that it is or isn't fake news, but I would like to know what was said that you claim is "incorrect"

The bit where you put its fake news.

Here is the current definitation of fake news. After taking the time to read it then please explain how what you wrote saying the story was fake news fits the definition.

Fake news (also known as junk news, pseudo-news, or hoax news[1][2]) is a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate disinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional news media (print and broadcast) or online social media.[3][4] The false information is often caused by reporters paying sources for stories, an unethical practice called checkbook journalism. Digital news has brought back and increased the usage of fake news, or yellow journalism.[5] The news is then often reverberated as misinformation in social media but occasionally finds its way to the mainstream media as well.[6] Fake news is written and published usually with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and/or gain financially or politically,[7][8][9] often using sensationalist, dishonest, or outright fabricated headlines to increase readership. Similarly, clickbait stories and headlines earn advertising revenue from this activity.
