I have had a pocket sprung mattress from silent night for the last 4-5 years, I did have to replace it due to it dipping not sure if I got unlucky but I replaced it with the same mattress as it’s so good. 100% recommend.
Literally just bought a new mattress from Argos Tues
what's the point of having pictures showing a bed with mattress and headboards and then you read that the headboard is purchased seperately and so is the mattress too.

hilarious that they make that sound like a positive by 'allowing' you to pay for on of your choice.
Just bought the Silentnight Essentials 600 Pocket Sprung Single Mattress with delivery £118.70 used my Nectar points to pay for it all :-)

I have a had two that dipped in the middle, so decided to try another brand this time. They lasted quite a while and were quite comfy for a while though. I think the fact most of the silentnight mattresses are none turnable is part of the problem.

Im thinking of getting geltex - but I also need a base.
I'm no expert but someone I know who works in that industry warned me away from Silent night, as they are utter crap apparently. Yes, a known brand but the mark up on this kind of furniture is huge and their quality is dire.

yes non turnable mattresses are basicaly half a mattress. a mattress needs to be turned over to even out the wear on the spring padding etc

I have a sleepmasters pocket sprung with memory. Was quite firm to begin with but over time became very comfortable. Over 8 years and it needs replacing soon. Cost me £480 with 20% saving.
Excellent as I get further discount on love2shop which can be used online
Anybody have any recommendations for a silent night firm mattress? Thanks

Not particularly. I got a pocket sprung one from John Lewis that was on offer on HUKD. It's about 8 years old now and still good. I use a high quality moisture barrier layer and reckon that has made a difference. Given we can sweat a pint or so a night that's a lot of liquid that hasn't entered the mattress.

Good question. Probably the quilt, sheets etc. Certainly into the air.
Not a nice thought, is it, but it is what it is. And it's a lot cheaper to buy new quilts regularly than a new mattress.

I got this one about week ago, on budget and extra firm (6), it might be too firm but my back is better.

Yep, wish i'd have known before buying it. They make it sound like its a good feature, not having to turn the mattress, but its just to save the cost of doubling up the fillings.
I bought one of the Travis mattresses two years ago, within months there were springs poking up and dips on the sides. Shocking quality. Had to request a topper for Christmas! Wouldn't recommend at all, even at that price. My other half bought one of Bensons own mattresses and it's wonderful, even after a good couple of years. Didn't cost much more than these silentnights on offer..

That's put me right off my chocolate orange
treat yourself and buy a proper pocket sprung mattress and not these cheap open coil mattresses branded as 'miracoil'.
A bed is a place you spend hours a day and which you keep for several years.

Never buy a coil mattress, they don't last and don't give good quality support, especially if you're sharing the bed. Always go for a pocket sprung mattress. With regular turning and occasional flipping, a decent pocket sprung mattress will last you around 10 years.
How do you enter the code for 25% off ?

You are very right. Crazy to think its the place you spend a third of your entire life so yes, not scrimping here is a must.
