It's just a shame that the only takeaway available on hungryhouse for me is a place that sells mouldy pizza's, although it's a great deal

You could negotiate the deal and just ask for 75% of the usual mould?

Use JE more than I care to admit, never had a problem with restaurants being stingy, if anything they want to keep JE customers happier due to reviews.

HH is awful in my area, about 4 restaurants to choose from, no good ones! But even JE had to start somewhere. I can remember when the JE delivery bags had 10% off vouchers on them and you got points for every order like a boots card! I miss those days.

Heat anyway...

damn you! Now I'm going to have to order 3x 15" pizzas for the sweet sweet price of £19.50. (65p a slice)..I was trying to cut back on fast food as well

25% + coMMision o HH and JE

does this work with the 20% student discount?

25 + 20 = 45%...would be awesome if it did.

uhm, if they added together..25 + 20 = 45%...so not sure what you are getting at.

Uhhhhh, these do so many discounts and promotions but lack in take away choice compared to Just-Eat Hot though

He means they wouldn't stack. You wouldn't get 45% off. It doesn't work like that.

Hope you're not a student of Maths..

Thebuyer - 20% off + 25% off doesn't = 45% off.
E.g. Order comes to £15. 20% off comes to £12. 25% off £12 = £9 = saving of £6. £6 of £15 = 40%, not 45%

Stop giving the guy stick as it depends on how the company calculates it. Not all companies take the subsequent discount off the discounted price.
Full price is £15. 25% off is a reduction of £3.75 and a 20% reduction off the FULL price is £3. Leaving you with £8.25 and a 45% reduction. A lot of Tesco offers work their discounts out on the full price when you stack more than one offer, hence such good bargains with the wine.

Obviously the method everyone is going on about which works out to 40% is more common but it's not the only way.

Actually the other way around, if at all. On hungryhouse they get reviews so they make the extra effort to give you a solid order, by phone they don't care.

But through phoning up, they save fees which they would otherwise have to pay hungry house. Fees saved translates into potentially extra "meat in the curry"!

I will be all over this like a tramp on chips with a mortgage, cheers yeah?

And in doing so had customers due to the efforts of HH trying them for the first time. And if they reduce the quality/quantity for those non-direct people, possibly the last. Good work takeaways.

Makes sense... Thank you for following up my query.

I've often wondered what the actual takaways think about these services, no idea what the fee structure is, but if the takeaway is big enough to have credit card processing, which they'll pay a fee for, imagine it's about the same. it's probably the smaller ones that have no 'connected till system' (maybe just an old cash draw type, just to print a receipt with) would be a big chunk out of their profit. plus the delivery people probably always prefer cash, as most people will round off / tip. But it's that vs increase in orders...

I know it wasn't originally your point, but I don't actually think this is at all true. Of course there's fees, JE and HH are businesses... But imagine being the guy who makes the food, you think he's really going to adjust the amount of food he adds based on the method of ordering? That's just effort that nobody can be bothered with, to recoup the fees they'd probably do it across the board if need be. Or just revel in having more orders from lazy people who try to avoid social interaction at all costs!

Ask them to cut it into more slices than usual then it will be even cheaper per slice!

Had the best chippy tea I can remember last night courtesy of HH. Bought the £10 voucher for £4 (20% off). Fish chips and peas twice and a chicken breast for the dogs (to take it over the minimum order). cost a grand total of £4.28 - bargain!

Looked on this site, and the Just Eat one for first time. Seems to be packed full of low end takeaways I wouldn't normally bother with, 90% curry houses or non Italian owned Pizza and Italian takeaways, some with not great food hygiene on Scores on the Doors. Maybe better in other areas, but I'll pass.

The meal I order is more expensive ordering with JE but oddly enough its the same price as HH which is wrong and they then shove a 50p charge for my card making more expensive! This is one I fail to understand.
