Good tyres. Once a Great British brand.
I thought avon were a premium brand not a mid range? Or is that in the past now?
Thx op, hot from me. Quidco has 7.5% cash back also.
Noticed this a a couple of weeks ago when in for an MOT test. Never thought to post as a deal, shows what I know!!!
Wet grip rating is 'A' which is excellent.

ATS have had this offer before, let’s hope it comes round again when tyres are needed.
Lol looked on my size and the tyres have risen in price by a tenner. Lol 20 on 25 off 5 saving lol. W. 2.50 per tyre off. Rubbish offer
anyone know what ATS are like ??? they good ??? seems a good deal
Anyone who knows me I'm fair and above comment has nothing to do with this reply. I had an oil change done and when I got home the car read too much oil had been put in. Yes they took the oil out to be fair but if they get that wrong could they have put the wrong oil in. I've had no problems with the car except after the oil was put in I averaged 43mpg Now a year or a little longer I Did my own oil change as I don't trust anyone to do it. Funny now though after I changed the oil it averages 49 mpg. Hmmm, maybe a few petrol heads on here can explain this? Anyway answer to your question from me is no I wouldn't use them again. But tyres? Surely they are up or not up. What problems can you have with tyres. Again to the car people you tell us.
well the oil thing, if you overfill an engine that can be a bad bad thing. it can break the engine. erm tyes well they could damage the wheels or not balance them correctly. and when they fit them they may not fit them right resulting in a leak.
Only on premium tyres everybody has a deal on premium tyres because they so expensive over priced on first place nothing on budget tyres
There's an identical Pirelli deal for 16" tyres at the same site. Though it says it finishes on 2nd, it seems to be still working. I just created the deal here: hotukdeals.com/dea…516
£171x4 pass for now.

I had the zv7 fitted to the rear my my Skoda superb. The tyres were newly launched and recently produced and had covered about 11000 miles. They had around 5mm left and started to crack down the centre of the tread all around and on both wheels. Enough to cause an MOT advisory.

I was told that it was caused my not doing sufficient mileage? I pointed out that the Michelin pilot sport 3 I had on the front were older and had no such issues , like every other newish tyre I had.

Avon would not give me a refund or part refund , national tyre regional manager gave me a full refund. I switched to Bridgestone.

If you search you can find others with similar issues. Not would I would expect from a quality brand sadly.

BMW/Mini tagged mine as 'budget' when they did a post-MOT vehicle inspection but they've been fantastic.

I've got the ZZ5s in 18", and the ZV7 in 15/16" on my MR2. Very happy to recommend them

But that’s the whole point of it...you’d never put a discount on budget tyres because you are already trying to undercut every other budget tyre and advertise the lowest price possible.
Would never buy Avon tyres again. They all started to perish/crack on sidewall. Never had it with any other brand.
Great tyres have them on both my cars, may not have the best fuel efficiency ratying but ill trade that for confidence and these grip brilliantly in all conditions
Can anyone confirm code expires date is definitely 2/1/2020. Need tyres soon but wants wait till pay day
I've been using Avon tyres for around 7 years now on multiple cars. Great tyres and last well too. Grip is excellent. I would consider them mid range tyres. They definitely aren't budget tyres. That accolade goes to Nankang, Taurus, blackcirlces etc etc etc.

The website mentions until 2nd January, however the deal is stock dependent.

Maybe the tyre fitters over inflate them! Ta Daaaaaa, I'll get my coat.

Decent tyres in a common size (with VAG anyway).
A great price for replacing all 4 on my AWS Rav4, however they only have Summer Avon tyres... surely I would need all weather ones if I dont intend changing them through the year.
Any major down sides to using summer tyres all year round?

EDIT: looked at a review of the Avon Z7s and it seems they wear very quickly. As a driver of an AWS where all 4 tyres need to replaced at a time, not too keen on buying a set that sonly going to get me a short lifespan.

Try your local independants. I recently got 4 x ZX7 s fitted for less than this deal works out, plus they knew what they are doing!

Overfilling with lubricant oil will raise it above the sump level which would cause the moving components to imerse in more oil on each stroke adding extra workload on the engine and hence lower MPG. Like walking in water, the deeper the water slower the pace. Thats why it is important to maintain oil level within limits.
Booked and paid for this online on Saturday. Turned up for my appointment this morning to be told the tyres are not here

That's a bummer, what a time waster.

I already got 2x Goodyear efficient grip performance, looking to get 2 more from eBay when they have 20% off.
Shame I've only just changed all mine - 4x 255/40/19 for £120 each fully fitted is insane value for money for a decent brand.

I got £145 on my Goodyear's though from Audi main dealer so not too unhappy.
Smashing! couple of 205 55 16 tyres for £86 fitted.
Avon is budget
Thanks for posting, we have added your thread to the Highlights pages
i got 4 x Avon 225/50 W 16 : ZV7 fitted with Front wheel alignment (tracking) for my BMW 3 series compact £272 at National Tyres & Autocare. that included a 15% discount code half price wheel alignment. this was in June 2018. tyres are wide so cost more than std width tyres. these Avon tyres have good grip but not so good fuel economy thats what i remember reading about them when i decided to buy as i do low mileage. my old tyres were probably 15 years old and all had cracking.at 8 years tyres are classed as old but can still pass MOT and you could say i got my use out of them.

Like so many things Norman; sold off, taken over, run into the ground, or simply bankrupt.

Budget isn't necessarily bad.
My tires aren't anything fancy, Imperial, but damn are they good for what I paid for them.

Each class (budget, mid-range or premium) has its purpose and is a balance between price and performance (plus a few other side factors like durability, sound etc). (budget, mid-range or premium)

The issue is when budget is advertised as mid-range as per OP and as per ATS
Edited by: "AbuG" 3rd Dec
They appear to be doing it on Michelin too if you go to their 'special offers' page. Currently running Avon ZV7 on my mx5 and they're great. Also had cooper cs8 which is essentially the exact same tyre (Avon own Cooper) for a bit cheaper still. They're budget friendly tyres but seem on par with Uniroyal and hankooks I've used in the past (that had their prices hiked!)
I wouldn’t recommend Avon Tyres. We have to use them on our vans at work and it’s very noticeable when they are changed from the original conti or mich ones put on in the factory.

Try searching on most major tyre fitters, and they all report Avon's as mid range. With A wet rating, they gave good points.

I think with all tyres the vehicle also plays a part. On my 3 Series I used to swear by Conti SportContacts but on my Audi they were awful and wore out really quickly.

I don't know how their budget range perform but ZZ5 always seem to have reasonable reviews and I would also class them as a mid-range.
