2.5" PNY HDD Enclosure - USB 3.0 + SSD Mounting Kit + Acronis £9.99 @ PCWorld

Seems a bargain to me.

The enclosure alone is worth more than £9.99. Plus you're getting a mounting kit to convert a 2.5" SSD/HDD to 3.5" for internal mounting AND Acronis True Image.

Originally £19.99 down to £9.99. Won't last long once it's on here.

Available for home delivery/store collection.

Should add; delivery is FREE too.

Hmmm - description says Acronis 2014 - be interested to know the exact version - some of the bundled versions are next to useless, and of course there's the free WD/Seagate versions, but if its a "proper" TI 2014 license then its worth more than this without the enclosure!

That's a pretty good deal if you need both an enclosure and a mounting kit as both alone are £2-3 each for crap one's on scumBay.

008 was 007 gone

So can you add an ssd drive

Or a standard hdd to this..

What's the largest capacity

Even the older version of Acronus is worth a tender, with the enclosure thrown in for free. Ordered one even though I have to go into town to collect it

Will this work with a HP microserver? Am looking for something to help me fit a SSD as a boot drive. Have heard about icy box, anyone with experience?

it's a pity that pny have removed the sata cable that they supply with the bracket-only kit, so this isn't exactly a 3-in-1 kit

Thanks, I had reserved one but hadn't fully decided if I wanted it and didn't really fancy the drive, I have now bought one delivered, decision made.

Reserved last night and collected earlier from Culverhouse Cross (Cardiff) PC World. Thanks OP

Thanks OP and thanks mcek for the ebay link.

... and it looks like everyone has cleaned out their ebay stock for the moment...

Bought one of these some time ago. The bundled version of Acronis was pretty useless and the cloning resulted in a slow useless SSD install of windows, a clean partition and install of windows went much smoother.

The enclosure quality isn't great, I didn't test the usb speed, so can't comment on its USB3 performance.

All in all not bad for a tenner; definitely not worth any more, if you need it. But to be honest if your upgrading to an SSD, I'd always start with a clean install and save your money.

Back in stock at loads of stores. I was almost going to travel across London for one and now it's available for home delivery.

It is acronis HD there is no disk have to download and use the activation code provided inside the box and you are emailed a 16 digit code for full access. First impression is that the case is very flimsy plastic but it may be better with the drive inside but very small and it is USB 3 hence the reason I bought it.

now £14.99 still decent value!

This is not the full version of Acronis. It's limited. You cannot change the backup schedule to daily or monthly. Only weekly. If that's ok for you, then you might be happy.
