All 27 James Bond Movies Ranked by Tomatometer

As celebrated was Connery’s reign was – the late actor’s films occupy three of the top five slots on this list – the sun sets on every empire, and thus was ushered in the age of the Lazenby. A mild administration for George, yes, with only 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service released, though Certified Fresh.

Then it became time to move over for Roger Moore, who offered a lightly winking and intelligent Bond for those burned-out ’70s times. Three of his movies are Rotten, three are Fresh, and one is Certified Fresh. Not bad, and he even traveled into space.

In 1981, Connery came back for non-Eon Bond Never Say Never Again, just as HQ was hiring Timothy Dalton for the job. Dalton’s Bond: Cool and menacing, and his films The Living Daylights and License to Kill are praised by modern fans for their dark, grittier take on the spy game. It’s something Daniel Craig would pick up on in the future, but with a bigger budget and fewer a-ha theme songs.

Pierce Brosnan brought back the sophisticated sex appeal, as the best Bond in the not-so-greatest movies. GoldenEye was intoxicating Certified Fresh fun, while the three that followed are all Rotten.

After Austin Powers took the mick out of the franchise for a decade, Eon turned to resurrecting James Bond as the brooding, brutish hulk we have today. Casino Royale was a return to form, Daniel Craig’s sneer and occasional smile calibrated to the modern cynical viewer. Skyfall was likewise Certified Fresh, but there was not so much critical love for in-betweener Quantum of Solace and the most-recent Spectre of 2015.

Six years passed until No Time To Die, the longest wait between Bond movies. At 15 years, Craig holds the record for longest uninterrupted on-screen ownership of Bond, but Connery spread his appearances as Bond across 21 years. Now, we’re reaching into the classified files for every James Bond movie ever ranked by Tomatometer!

Remember the free prime trial - so free for a
Month if you haven’t got prime.
    Great Tip
  2. Avatar
Wonder if they will be the full versions and not the edited ones you see on the TV :/
    They will be the original
  3. Avatar
Can confirm all are 4k 🙏
It says 4K against the details of the film but when I play them they are played in HD and not 4K. Has anybody else experienced this?
  4. Avatar
Isn't the prime sub due to increase this month so could be a factor why they are back
I think they went up last month and if you renewed as an annual before then you'd get the old rate for a year and it's a huge saving.

I still like the Ace Rimmer sequence in the beginning of the Red Dwarf S7 episode Stoke Me a Clipper as a tribute to the older Bond action scenes. Was für ein Kerl!

I know people disagree this is a deal, but I would rather see posts like this than one for every single phone in existence at every point of condition...

It’s bizarre how Amazon now own MGM and still will not keep these permanently on their streaming services but only for a month? Ridiculous in my opinion.
    Create artificial demand?

Every few months they can advertise they have 007 on their platform again. Reminding everyone how no one else does.
  8. Avatar
Wish they would put the 4k versions up
  9. Avatar
Shocking that these are still the 1080p versions despite Amazon giving other countries the 2160p HDR versions.

As long as they haven't taped over them with world's strongest man
Now you've got Norfolk's maddest man.

    A warm 25 days challenge.

Will I get too the deal of the day for posting every Prime release?

    This isn’t a deal.
Gonna post the next grand tour episode when it drops. Instant front page
  14. Avatar
    In 4K yet ?
Been waiting for No Time to Die to appear in 4K/HDR. Absurd that Amazon hasn’t seemingly made it available in the best quality yet…
  15. Avatar
Remember thinking when they showed them earlier this year they'll never show them again ,but 'Never say never again'
    (Apart from said film🙈)
    Nobody does it like Amazon.
  16. Avatar
Wonder if we'll get 4K like the iTunes versions?
Possibly not. Amazon is the worst for 4K!

The spy who loved me is the best Bond Hands Down.

Live and Let Die, every time. The first Bond film I remember seeing and the best theme song to boot (G&R cover). The whole Voodoo storyline was fascinating to me as a child, although most of it went over my head I am sure.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is one of the best Bond films IMO. Great score, great fun and a killer of an ending.
It isn't the greatest bond actors but I agree it is one of best bonds, the writing score and other actors are great.
  19. Avatar
Well this is a deal for me I was about to buy them all
  20. Avatar
I've just realised how "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is such an emotive title now. Also I liked how the Queen agreed to do a send up!
  21. Avatar
    Not a deal
  22. Avatar
Not a deal unless its 4K. Everywhere has these in 1080p nowdays.
  23. Avatar
    Goldeneye is amazing
The Daniel Craig ones are good

All the older Bond movies are rubbish. Maybe good back in the day, but a real chore to watch nowadays imo
I would say all of them are better than No Time To Die.
  24. Avatar
    Get the Sunny Delight in!
Now you've got Norfolk's maddest man!

They believe they need to do what Disney does because they've proven that it worked in the past so must still be working: Artificial scarcity (edited)

Oh wow. I love James Bond. I cant wait to watch that one where the evil guy tries to take over the world but Bond thwrats his plans. No, even better is that other one where James Bond defeats the dastardly plans of the guy who is trying to take over the world.
Don't forget the one where the bad guy's girlfriend switches sides and ends up falling for Bond.

Kind of makes me laugh that this has so much heat. People are already paying for a service that streams movies and they are giving you some movies to stream for that price. I appreciate that some movies and series end up being exclusives but effectively here all they are doing is fulfilling a contractual obligation
It's kind of like it's not a deal, but if it is posted as a deal and enough people like it then it is a deal. A bit like all those people putting down Jedi as their religion on the census in the hope that it is recognised as a real religion.

Not knocking it, I like most of the James Bond films and the chat myself so have no objection to the deal post.

Can’t wait to do a binge on these….. something about the original bond films that takes me back to my childhood
Boxing day (and often other bank holidays) mid-afternoon through the eighties and some of the nineties, it was the only thing worth watching.

Okay, I'll watch it in 3 days (if I remember)

Haven’t the Bind films been available on Prime for quite some time now? I’ve definitely watched the latest one on there
I think they were there for the 60th anniversary of Dr No but only for a few days

I liked Casino Royale and Goldeneye, but Bond hasn’t been consistently good since the 70s.
  34. Avatar
Thought they were already on prime :/
They were, The big man bezos is flipping to 007 switch on off on off just trying to get us excited and ignore the price hikes (edited)
  35. Avatar
    I must be dreaming.

    Thanks for sharing.

    best Bond theme ever :

Thanks for sharing! Certainly how I feel - for me Roger Moore perfrectly protrayed the character for the movies - obviously a far cry from the books, but perfect shtick for time!

How times change... Several years ago it was about the best deal on the Bond DVD, then BluRay discs and disc set. Now its announcement that that the new owner Amazon have decided to stream the moves for a set period.

I prefer the old days. 😄
  39. Avatar
    Perfect start to a bond-a-thon

“You missed Mr Bond!”.. *thud*.. “Did I?..”
Roger Moore - in Living Daylights - love that scene!
