Thanks.

My wife has been hinting she wants something like 18 carrots for her Xmas pressie.

At these prices, she can have a hundred carrots and it won't take much out of my beer fund.
A healthy deal

I've brought this Redmere brand in the past (berries and courgettes mainly) and I find they go off very quickly. I've not tried potatoes or sprouts but the carrots are all bland when put in a cheap pack. Tesco produce quality isn't that great - could be how my local store looks after the produce but personally I'd rather not risk a special dinner with 29p veg. That's what I was trying to say, not being snooty or anything as I do appreciate everyone works to different budgets and the supermarkets are marketing this stuff to appeal to all. Just not my cup of tea thanks!

Well seeing as this is up until Christmas Eve there won’t be much chance in them going off then will they

29p is a special price to draw customers in. Tesco do this every Xmas. Usual price for the potatoes is £1.35.
Redmere Farms – sprouts (UK), mushrooms (Holland), carrots (UK), parsnips (UK), spinach (Italy, Spain), spring greens (UK), cabbage (Spain), onions (UK), new potatoes (UK), sweet potatoes (US)

Tesco launches range of products named after farms that don't actually exist

Some of the foods were imported from overseas and given British names to make them sound local

Although may have changed since last year.

Left to cool completely (well most of them always have a few too many on the tray to begin with) bang email in the freezer and forget about em until Christmas day. Defrost and essentially reheat for about 20mins or so. Saves burning everything else waiting for them to crisp or burning them to cinders waiting on everything else. I put them in with Yorkshire's when I take the meat out to rest! Also cook all my veg the night before (blanched in ice cold water when ready) and heat on the day. Means I don't miss the kids with presents and building. Guests and the likes aren't ignored whilst I'm slaving in the kitchen. And I feel like eating it rather than just needing a sit down. Done it for years and would never go back to doing it all on the day again!

I am going to pass this tip along. Ty!

Minus the emailing the freezer part. I don't think ours is connected and honestly I wouldn't know what to say. I've just been using it for years.

Yeh, because I meant people would buy and store today for Xmas - get a grip. I'm allowed to have an opinion.

What has that got to do with junk food? I'm saying buy quality veg not the cheap stuff.
I buy from my local fruit and veg store but looks like Tesco may be facing legal action regarding the branding, hopefully I can post the link here but if not it's on MSN today, I can't post the link but looks like a farmer that also has the same name is not happy, full story on MSN.
