Thanks.

My wife has been hinting she wants something like 18 carrots for her Xmas pressie.

At these prices, she can have a hundred carrots and it won't take much out of my beer fund.
A healthy deal

Fantastic price. Wish the snow and ice would clear so I can actually get out to the shops.

Are you sure it said "veg" offers...?
nice
Could of been live today. I'm heading to the big store later. Not as good as the previous 0.20p deals of Xmas past but understandable.
Thanks.
Thank you.

Thanks OP
Thanks for the post!
Thanks for this, will grab loads of cauliflower to freeze and some potatoes for wedge's.
"Redmere Farms" - not even a real farm, just another of their made up brands
I hate those long thin spindly ends of parsnip (as in the example shown), as there's not much left if you chop them off for roasting, but fine for putting in soups and blending, so the monsters can't pick the bits out !

You should get some of the local ones of my market, they're about a foot long, 5" diameter and 4 for a quid... Parsnips that is!

Fine for parsnip chips.

It's also misleading to customers who think Tesco actually care about our British farms rather then what actually happens with them paying pittances for stock and cancelling orders with very short notice

I'm just saying if you want a really special Xmas lunch, why risk it with 29p veg that MAY taste really nasty? I've brought this Redmere brand in the past (berries and courgettes mainly) and I find they go off very quickly. I've not tried potatoes or sprouts but the carrots are all bland when put in a cheap pack. Tesco produce quality isn't that great - could be how my local store looks after the produce but personally I'd rather not risk a special dinner with 29p veg. That's what I was trying to say, not being snooty or anything as I do appreciate everyone works to different budgets and the supermarkets are marketing this stuff to appeal to all. Just not my cup of tea thanks!
Thanks

do you just cook them as normal and freeze them? never tried that tbh, would save a shed load of time
No need to rush, some shops will match this and some will undercut.
Not sure any of the spuds will be roasters though

Yep. Roasted in Goose Fat. Drained off. Left to cool completely (well most of them always have a few too many on the tray to begin with) bang email in the freezer and forget about em until Christmas day. Defrost and essentially reheat for about 20mins or so. Saves burning everything else waiting for them to crisp or burning them to cinders waiting on everything else. I put them in with Yorkshire's when I take the meat out to rest!

Also cook all my veg the night before (blanched in ice cold water when ready) and heat on the day.

Means I don't miss the kids with presents and building. Guests and the likes aren't ignored whilst I'm slaving in the kitchen.

And I feel like eating it rather than just needing a sit down. Done it for years and would never go back to doing it all on the day again!

You only rest your meat for 20 minutes? Gosh.
Awesome thanks

Depends on what you have?

My wife says my meat is a poor offering and she's definitely had bigger joints.
