Fruits and veggies should not have any expire date like the rest of the world, if it looks good eat it, if it doesn't don't eat it.

When i buy veg i like to think it will last in the fridge for a couple of days before going off.
All this hiding sell / use by dates just enables the supermarkets to sell old produce to the public to increase their profits.

Swan Centre as it’s in Yardley.

I did a Google search and agree it said swan centre, but some people consider the one further down as Yardley as well, so I though I'd ask, also it's a pain getting in and out of swan
now that's a whole lotta spuds!

Cant complain for 10p
My local Tesco has really cheap vegetables like this... thing is, they don’t have an expiration date. Heard many people complain that they start moulding within a day or two.

I'd suggest you learn how to tell how "ripe" fruit and vegetables are then.

It's really not hard and will no doubt get more and more useful as supermarkets increasingly clamp down on waste.

Utter nonsense! Check before you buy - you can tell when veg is past its best. Do you think they pick potatoes to order? They are harvested and then sit in storage for many months, just bringing so many out at a time to meet demand.

This obsession with "fresh" leads to so much waste - there needs to be an education programme on where food comes from and what is fresh.

You go tell that to Lidl selling part blackening carrots today because they are past their use by date but still being sold to the public.

Its not that hard even for you to understand the simple consept of selling fit for consumption food now is it ?

Well done. Seems like you are able to tell when vegetables are going off after all!

It's not a difficult concept for me to understand, no. I feel like the reason I didn't understand it initially was that you didn't actually say that... Though regardless, you can certainly still eat carrots that are starting to blacken - I do. Not too mention, you can feed them to pets.

If you choose to buy black carrots expecting top quality produce, that's on you.
