Bargain. ordered two from Argos last week for work & they weren't this price!!!!!!! Mind you got the vouchers from Argos though.

Have some heat - what else!!(_;)

I think this needs a bit of heat ;-p

Lol, what a dope. Sorry ReadingBrown99 i missed ur post!

Just bought one for my sons bedroom, can't seem to keep the room warm with the oil heating.
Are these costly to run.?

They are costly to run per-say, but if managed right may be ok. For every hr you run it it will use 2.5 units of electric if on full pelt so if you ran on full for 24hrs a day = expensive but if the thermostat works well it wont be on all time and prob not uding 2.5kw when it is.

Say 20p a unit

2.5kw x 24hr x 20p = £12.00 p/day full pelt 24-7.

Say 20p a unit

20p per unit??? You should look at switching!!!

Standard tariff more likely to be around 12p. It will never be on 24/7 as it's got the thermostat. You will rarely have it going full pelt unless the room is cold to start with, once it's heated up you will likely turn it to a reasonable temperature to maintain so I'd estimate that it'll be on maybe 20-30 minutes out of the hour for 8-10 hours a day at 1.5kw.

Taking all that into consideration, I'd make an estimate of around £0.09 per hour or 90p per day

p.s. I know you were just illustrating what it could cost but just not realistic.

19.7p per unit her in N.Ireland,I contacted N.I.E asking for cheaper rate as my bill is £462 per quarter they said there is no other tarriff ,who is getting 12pu

That link goes to a 2KW without a timer ??

I appreciate your efforts but it is impossible to estimate how much this will cost to run without knowing the characteristics of the room. The thermostat won't prevent it being on 24/7 if you need that power to keep the room at the temperature you desire.

£1 a day for one radiator. i just about spend that for all the electric in my house lol

Incorrect as link goes to the 2Kw rad that I posted already.

what's your 2Kw one like Squillon? How big's the room it heats etc?

Received a heater today from amazon, its not the one they had in the add, plus I see they changed the add to this 2.0kw one I received, does not have a timer.I still have the email confirming the 2.5kw heater with timer I ordered.
Wrote to amazon 1/2 hour ago waiting on reply. They have broke the trading standards.Lets see what they do.I don't want this heater at that price.
