9 carat is waste of money . it should at least be 21 carat to have some …9 carat is waste of money . it should at least be 21 carat to have some value.

Why does it need to have monetary value? Isn’t it a symbol rather than something materialistic?

What hope is there for the world!

This is what I was looking for, might pop into the store to see if they will price match their website
Only £12.99 in Argos

Update: most of the other comments are deleted. Just before you start judging anyone, i meant to say : value in terms of monetary value, not emotional value. I myself purchased £1 poundland rings.

Yes but GOLD is considered to be something of value....all these big companies make people fool by selling 9 carat gold which is gold on name only and technically not gold.

I don’t think most people really care to be frank!

Yeah...that's why I am worried on how jewellery company doesn't make people aware and try to sell the over priced stuff with the name as "gold" when it is a shiny stone.

I think everyone is fully aware of 9/18 carat etc, nobody is THAT stupid.

My point was I don’t think people really care if their engagement/wedding ring is worth £1 or £1m. Why would it matter to the non-materialistic among us!

I am not at all talking about how valuable is materialistic things. That's not my point. Even if it is 1p ring...doesn't matter.

All I am saying is not everyone is aware of carat. Its misleading for common people who don't usually buy gold. Moreover my comment is not trying to say deal is not good. I am just saying that there is not much education on what is valuable and what is just stone and big companies try to market the product with name as "gold".
You do you at the end of the day. If you can afford £20 or 2k that's up to you. We didn't have much left to pay out for hubby's wedding ring, I've offered many times to get him a nicer one, but to him, it's the ring he married me with. To him it's priceless. I'd not change my wedding ring if I suddenly got rich tomorrow, because you can't buy the sentiment.
horses for courses I guess but most people would prefer £9k sentiment to £90 sentiment. Im happy for those people who genuinely arent materialistic but I can honestly say most people are
Nah. I could put 9k towards some amazing memories for my kids instead.
horses for courses again, some people can afford to do both

21?! That’s not even a thing... 24 / 22 / 18 / 14 / 9 - these are the standard gold purity values. Nobody really makes jewellery over 18 as it’s too soft. In short, your comment was factually nonsense.
