This looks like a good deal, it's a bit retro looking but it's still a 26" LCDTV for only £199.99, im buying one for my spare room, unless anyone can find me a better deal?

Hannspree HannsLounge 26" LCD TV

My Style, My TV

Classic designs from the 1950s were the inspiration for this model. Using a basic concept based on molded veneer and a wooden back shell, the design integrates modern techniques and smooth, flowing lines. The combination of retro and modern should appeal to young urban professionals; this is a TV suited both to a wide variety of personal spaces and to business environments.

Quidco availble for Misco too @5% (excl VAT and delivery). Good spotting!

Reminds me of an atari 2600...

I like it, its different. Not seen any other LCD TV with these retro looks!

Very nice but not wall mountable

One review here from What Plasma tech.co.uk/hom…nge

[Based on when it was launched @ £600]

wasnt there someone looking for a wood lcd the other week? this is nice. i like it!

Pricerunner has this @ £554 cheapest (from OYYY.co.uk)

oh my god thats horrible!! sure it will appeal to some1!!

Dang I would have gone for this if the Contrast ratio was 1200:1 and not 600:1

agree with robotochan. contrast ratio is mediocre. looks cool but picture is bad.

voted hot. I want one it'll look great in my bedroom.

just wonder what the SD quality is like...:whistling:

if anyones got one please let me know how well this TV does on everything

Thats a really cr@ppy looking television

This will appeal to some whilst others will find it gross, i love it but i like weird things so hay ho i think ill buy it

I love the look of this TV! I've just bought a 42" LCD this week for the living room...I could never get away with buying this...I don't need it....but strangely....need it....

Just to put this in perspective a bit too...you can get a highly rated 32inch HD Hannspree "XV32" at various places for less than £300 too - if you don't like the look of this 50's/70's wood effect telly!

I've been waiting to see the LCD's in general to come down but have they been roughly the same the past 6moths so the design of this one won me over, sorry but all LCD's have the same look, boring.

This is fab, mine should be here for monday, yay !!

Minging the merciless - that is a complete munter of an LCD.

Walk away from the deal....I repeat walk way from the deal....

Jasus this looks horrible ...........

So why do I still want 1 :?

Great price though Heat added:thumbsup:

I bought the 32" version of this when Misco had it for £500 with a free Xbox 360. Ended up selling the TV on ebay for £420 and got a 360 for £80!!

Had it up for a while and it looks great with SD (freeview via Scart). Not so great with my 360 via Component though, the darks looked very dark and could only be corrected up to a certain point by fiddling with the settings. They were still too dark though.

A plus point is that the menu is very user friendly, I had no complications swapping between the various signals (Scart, Component etc).

My views are based on the 32" of the same TV so this model may be different. Still a good price imo. Hope this helps someone

Oh and for anyone put off by the looks, once it is set up you cannot see the wood effect on the back.

Well, having signed up for What Hi-Fi (for the free Goldring buds) I thought I'd have a read of it. December is a great issue to start with as it has a review of many 26" TVs - and I happened to be in the market for a 26er. I was about to head for the £390 Samsung LE26R87BD (at Dixons after 5% off and 3% Quidco and with a free 2-4-1 cinema card after adding a 99p energy saver light bulb) as the review placed it a close equal 2nd - the Panasonic (TX-26LXD70) winning and the Sony (KDL-26T3000) coming 2nd as well. But then in the back, they have a list of a heap of TVs.

This Hannspree was given 5 stars when reviewed for £699. For £200 it must be an absolute bargain!!! It was tested in April this year, so it may have gone down a bit in relative performance, but it's gone down much more in relative price! The What H-Fi? blurb says "fantastic styling, good performance and it sounds great, too".

Yes, each to his or her own; but overall it's a hot deal. I thought it was a misprice when I was umming and ahhing over it this morning!

The 32" and 37" versions are quite a bit different. They have 800:1 (or 1200:1 depending on where you look) contrast ratio and a 6-in-1 card slot. There's also some dispute as to the response time. I think the 26" is only 16ms while the 32/37s have an 8ms time.

OK, so what's the best deal on a digital tuner? The reviews suggest that this obviously needs one!

thats like one of the most disgusting tvs this century
rather spend 100 quuid extra on the stylish 32 inch hanspree

I think this Tv looks great and the price is excellent. I have a 37" Hannspree and I am VERY happy with the build quality and the picture.

This TV wouldn't look right in every home but it is a welcome change from the cookie cutter look of so many televisions being produced now.

I think this looks great. Thank goodness someone out there realises not everyone wants the same silver or black box that all your neighbours have.

I think this TV is marmite..........................I LOVE marmite!:-D

bod emrys

That was me, and this was the exact TV  Damn it this site costs … That was me, and this was the exact TV  Damn it this site costs me some money.

cool. saves me hunting for you now lol.

Yup, this tv is a 'marmite', you either love it or hate. i wish i had the money to spend. would look fantastic in my bedroom

The lack of a digital tuner is a big put off. I'm surprised that so many non digital tvs are still on sale in this country.

I am the other way - I'm get so pissed all the time that my choice of TVs is restricted because of the assumption by manufacturers that everyone is able to receive Freeview. I can't.

SEVEN MILLION people in this country cannot get Freeview and want a Tv with an analogue tuner in the TV.

Bring on more choice for us 7 million!

I also live in the part of the country that will not get switched over to "digital" until 2012. I live in a village where 70% of the homes can only receive 4 channels. No Freeview signal and the valley we live in gives no line of sight to the Sky satellite.

I like the style of it and it's a good price for a 26"

Shame it's a hannspree though.

Voted warm as for a real budget, it's a good price for the size.

Thanks

Better looking than the usual cheap nasty samsung ****

Looks gorgeous IMO. Bit worried about that contrast ratio though. 600:1 seems very low.

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42660000/jpg/_42660301_cortina203bbc.jpgThis telly reminds me of 70s Cortina's! I like it.

what HIFi Sound&Vision gave it 4/5

Verdict:
"Lovely: looks like a show pony, delivers like a thoroughbred."
Score:
"very good" (4 out of 5 stars)

Excellent looking television. I got this tv and got laid every night because of it.

I love the back of this TV - not so sure about the front...but either way, a definite bargain.

That isn't mandatory is it? I like the look of the telly, but with my back...

One thing, can anyone comment on the viewing angle?

It's variously quoted as 85/59 degrees, but other LCD TVs quote 176 degrees. Do they have different ways of measuring the same thing, or do you really have to watch in a 90 degree "cone" in front?

I wouldn't worry, you'll have a job finding Freeview TV sets that have no analogue tuner.
