It's not genuine, they never are on eBay and certainly not for that price.

somehow I suspect this is not an original.....
cheaper to get one for £1 in Poundland if that's the case...

click and collect at Argos also see link..

Just a tip, just because something says it's genuine, dosent mean it actually is. Sure it might be a 'genuine apple cable' but that doesn't mean it's affiliated with the company in anyway. Also, you can tell a lightning cable is fake if the bottom edges of the charging just below the connector are really sharp.

Argos don't sell fakes

has to say ORIGINAL to be really branded (this case from apple)... GENUINE aren't original ones

this is not argos selling it is it? you are just picking it up from there....

Click and collect at Argos does not make it an Argos product

for the price £2.69 to use as a spare for my powerbank i reckon its a good buy , Unless someone can reccomend a better one ??

It's not from Argos! Argos click and collect is a service open for businesses to use!

Priceless

if this is not a good deal , can give me a better deal then ?

I got one of these a while ago, and when I read the writing on the actual cable, it says "Appls" on it rather than "Apple". Most people would not pay attention to these small details and just assume its original coz it looks the same.

You already got told, all pound lands have these 'genuine' cables

These cables are similar to the ones sold in poundland so there's your better deal.. Also people have had bad experiences with non-genuine/MFI certifified cables which have caused damage to the battery, phone and the charging port so why bother buying cheap cables which will cost you you ten times the price to get the phone/tablet repaired

Then again it does say in the listing...

"ORIGINAL OFFICIAL GENUINE APPLE IPHONE 5 5C 5S 6 6+ LIGHTNING USB CHARGER CABLE"

So if it does turn out to be fake non Apple product (make sure you check the writing on the cable), you can claim a refund from ebay and leave negative feedback. Most likely the seller wont ask you to send it back coz he will be responsible for postage costs which wont be worth it for him. So you will end up with a free cable, only if it is fake.

Probably because you bought fakes and not originals

Spend £100s on an iPhone and risk breaking it with a fake charging cable.

Bought one from eBay said "original genuine" but was not - seller insisted its genuine ordinal but not Apple make.

Posts deal for cheap cable.
Asks why you should bother buying cheap cables.

Mind blown.

It's fake chargers (especially car chargers) which can do damage to your phone by giving too much power and damaging the phones power management IC. Although cheap cables may not be great quality, if you use with an official charger there is no way this can result in the damage to your phone as stated above. The problem is fake chargers NOT fake cables.

yes ebay have this new delivery option where the seller can offer the item to be collected from a local argos, a bit strange but if it works .....

you should write a book, perhaps titled "obvious tips by captain obvious"

MFI certified is the only way to go they have coded chips in so they work with apple devices and the not certified msg doesn't come up on the screen they r £4-5 on amazon. the way to tell certified cables are the tabs on the usb r centralised cheaper ones are just anywhere
