Not IPSLow res for for sizeA load of rubbish for anything but the bin

Some people are not bothered about 4K and all that crap. I use my computer for minimum 6 hours a day and my eyes have not yet fallen out, instead of talking a lot of crap how about you post more then 7 deals in 8 years you **** cheap skate.

and what makes a IPS screen better for gaming? you mean because it has slower refresh rate but better colours?

Very constructive. Care to post an IPS 27" 1080p freesync for this price or similar?

OP: Decent price if this is what your budget allows, heated!

I have this monitor and just checked for you, it has
Fancy a 1920x1200 myself, that can rotate 90 degrees to use for lightroom editing portraits.
Please post if you see any offers, like the Dell U2415.

Think he was more referring to the 16:10 aspect ratio, could be crucial for his workflow. Though I do agree gas mounts are awesome
Got this monitor for the same price in the last deal months ago, no complaints here running with my RX480.

Heat!

I still like the TN panels
Good price for this, heat added
This has been out of production for a while so must be the last remaining stock.
Anyone out there know how is this superior to the Deal of the Day, also a 27" but a bit cheaper?

They are pretty much the same thing. The Phillips has better brightness (300 vs 250 while this one has freesync (AMDs open source technology to avoid tearing and stuttering in games).
The other differences are the tilt angle, etc...
It seems like the Acer has built in speakers too...
Hope that helped.

Not for this price its not.
I'd love one at home
how would this compare to a dell u2414h - i have 2 of those, and the boy is always trying to take them - just wondered if this would be a good compromise for him instead of taking mine - your thoughts please
There is abetter deal guys 24" LG 24MP68VQ 1080p (full hd) IPS with 5ms and 9.6ms input lag which is very good for gaming and also it has thin bezels. I got it for £145 from Laptops direct now not sure if the offer its avalaible also amazon had it for £145 but theuly deliver it on August. I have this monitor it has freesync too and black stabilizer I suggest you look it up. Its my first monitor ever so I dont know how to compare it to a TN panel but from what I see TN arent good with viewing angles and colour accuracy however they are fast so unless you are a pro esports player I suggest an IPS.
Edit: I also suggest full hd only from 24" and below because then the pixels get stretch and you lose quality of image so unless you are a little fsr from the screen for a desk i suggest 24" but thats for a full hd monitor.

Have you posted the right link?

I was trying to find the freesync range...

The link says nothing about freesync

and the model isn't on the AMD list?

At a very quick glance, I think the only difference is that the other is not freesync, if gaming not important I would go with the one you linked
Thanks for the feedback guys - I do game, but only at 1920x1080 with a Radeon 7950. As this monitor will be replacing a non-gaming 24" screen of a dual screen set-up, I think I'll be okay to get the Philips.

Thanks again for the advice!
I'm not saying this isn't a good price, but is FreeSync really worth it if the monitor can only output at 60hz? You may as well just use v-sync at this frequency

Yes, if the framerate dips below 60fps.

V-sync introduces significantly more input lag.

Fair enough!
I have the 24" version of this pretty decent monitor, not that I'm picky. You could pick it up from here for as low as £99 but has been discontinued. Still available at other places if you Google gf246 same specs if anyone wants the smaller screen for less

According to this review the freesync range is 55-75 Hz which isn't very good. If your frame rate dropped below 55 it would not be syncing the frames anymore, unless it managed to drop between 23-37 Hz and synced every 2 frames, but then you'd still have the 38-54 Hz range where it was not syncing which would suck. A good freeview range needs to have a maximum that's at least double the minimum.

Edit: actually, that review doesn't mention freesync either so now I'm doubting that it is. Those must just be the range of input frequecies it's possible to use, not a freesync range.

Cheers.I skimmed the article and searched for 'sync' and 'freesync' and only reference was in an advert for a different one at the bottom.

Sorry to shout...

I DON'T THINK THIS MODEL HAS FREESYNC

I think that's important in case anyone bought it thinking it does!!!
This model is now down to £ 139.96
