Product Description
· The 3rd-generation Nest Learning Thermostat is slim, sleek and beautiful. With a big, sharp display and Farsight, you can see the temperature, time or weather from across the room. The Nest Thermostat learns the temperature you like, then programs itself. It knows how long it takes to heat your home so that you’re comfortable when you get there. When you leave, it turns itself down so that you save energy. And with the Nest app you can change the temperature or check your Energy History from anywhere.

Wouldn't be without ours. Heat!
Brought mine for £150
I bought a Hive yesterday as it seems like Google are slowly shutting down Nest (they are dropping IFTTT, removing/merging the nest app, removing the nest app from WearOS etc). It's annoying as the Nest looks better imo, but I don't want to buy something that one day will just be useless because Google decided to turn it off.

Where did you bring it?
Not sure about "slowly shutting down Nest". They renamed their hub to the Nest Hub Max recently.
They aren't shutting down Nest they are just incorporating it into the larger Google family, hence the name change to Google Nest
is the black version also stanless steel?
Now I'm really tempted. Are these as easy to install as you tube videos suggest. I only have 2 wires on my current thermostat , brown and blue. Have read some people have has issues with that

Then why have they been removing features from the Nest thermostat? Perhaps my wording should have been better, the Nest name may live on, but they certainly seem to be focusing on the other areas of the smart home as opposed to the thermostat.

They are focusing on the whole thing. They are removing some third party access as they remove "works with nest" and replacing it with the google assistant. Bascially because of privacy issues.

If google was going to turn nest off they would just do it, they have no problem dumping stuff. But I don't see why they would focus on some smart home features and turn off others?

Fair enough, we clearly have different interpretations of the future of Nest. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

I just think that if they are going to go for the smart home tech they are better to go all in and try to cover every possible thing you might want to make smart, they want their own eco-system.
115 pounds at CEX, Grade A
An excellent price, my only issue is the lack of Smart Trvs for it but I have a feeling this will soon change with Google

I have two boilers (annex and house). We have nest in one and hive in other.
Much prefer Hive (but Nest looks cooler).
Been monitoring this for a while but not enough of a saving for me. I'll stick with my Honeywell for the time being

The base for the thermostat only has 2 terminals so you will be ok assuming the voltage is correct.
Turns out my current power / wiring set up it not correct so will leave it for now or go with the hive which includes install but it doesn't quite look as good as the nest
