free bar!!!

free bar!!!

For an hour! On £2 a bottle house wine!

Good if you're local or going that way anyway, but I personally wouldn't go out of my way for it. not voted either way though as the price is pretty ok.

Heat added, shame they don't have family rooms for this as would be nice for a break with the kids

Actually change that, the family room is £65 a night for upto 4 people, £260 for a 4 night break is excellent

We stayed there on this deal for my Birthday in November and for the money, you really can't grumble, food was good, room and hotel were clean, the staff were also helpful and friendly for less than 30 quid per person it's hot from me!!!

Just spent the weekend at this hotel on this deal.
It usually costs around £120 per night but there is no way I would pay that price!
Free bar runs between 6pm-7pm but because of the weather we got there at 8pm. Asked if they would honour the deal for us but they were not interested, after a bit of discussion they conceded that they would allow us one free drink each!!!
Buffet carvery was standard fayre but the desserts were cheap, cash & carry standard slop. Asked if there was any more custard available but the kitchen staff replied that because it was 8.45pm, it was too late to start producing more custard!!!! Wife politely intervened and pulled me away from the spotty cook/microwave operative.
Rooms were okay but a bit tired and the bathroom had it's wallpaper peeling off the wall and was generally shabby. Because our room was in the annex of the main hotel, you could hear your neighbours talking and the loos flushing. When people were walking down the corridor outside our room, the bedside table lamp rattled on it's table.
Decided to drink in the lovely local village for the evening where the pubs and locals were great.
Returned to the hotel bar for a night cap where the bar staff were most helpful and forthcoming. They offered us free drinks when the gas went on the pumps which we took advantage of.
Buffet breakfast was dissapointing due to the cheap and tasteless meat they use and you had to make your own tea and coffee.
I suppose the moral is you get what you pay for, but for such a lovely main building and grounds you expect a level of service that befits the establishment.

I posted this a while ago, could be their going rate now

This hotel gets very mixed reviews on trip advisor especially for the food, but they are dloing deals on DBB all the time on the britania website. So as the poster says above, you get what you pay for.
